Great convenience
Bought this to replace a smaller Tiger unit which had peeling inside liner tank. Another family member unfortunately tossed the whole thing before I could examine it and assess all options. I was also unable to confirm that the unit was not possible to save or that the liner was truly failing. The old unit was still functioning, it was just a concern that the inside liner could be sloughing off chemicals into the water.Due to the excellent function of the older unit, I chose to replace with basically the same thing, just the larger (Mid size) unit. It is pretty much all the same; great quality, function, and convenience. Still happy with the Tiger brand and its high points, for now. Great for hot water on demand with power savings function overnight.

Good product
This is my third electric water boiler, including one I bought for my friend. It keeps the water hot. You can have tea anytime. It’s also very nice looking on the kitchen counter.

Best water heater Tiger!
Dear Tiger,My mom had the Zijorushi(not sure if I spelled it correctly) water heater and I needed something to heat up my water that I use for my Tazo bagged tea. This thing is built like a tank and has a large capacity. My wife and I were using a 1L Mr. coffee water heater before for tea but it was small and after 2 or 3 pours, we had to refill the tank. The Mr. Coffee heater broke after being used for a number of years so we decided to upgrade. This water heater is 5L and it is a beast. I originally wanted the white version but the wife did not like the color so she chose the black one. This one. This heats up real quick and it keeps the contents super hot. It has a lock which would prevent children from accidentally pouring the extremely hot water on themselves. The fail-safe is nice to have. You just need to press the unlock button before you hit the pour button.I have no complaints about this unit and I will update my review after a few months of use when I have learned everything about it. Thanks in advance for reading.

Decent value; lot of features
We've had a Tiger hot water maker for some years. It finally began to rust around the top edges of the metal vessel and shed what I guess(?) were small pieces of plastic that I could see floating on the top of the water. It didn't owe us anything - it had given good service for years. Time to get a new one. I ordered the one made in Japan. I like that the re-boil feature can be set for up to a 10 hour delay (good for overnight), unlike the old one that had only a 6 hour option. We use only reverse-osmosis-filtered water so the interior stays clean - no mineral deposits to clean out. I think that helped the old one last so long. One thing I don't like as well about this one (as compared to the old): this is squatter and has a larger diameter so it still holds the same 3 liters, BUT, I like to use a single-cup drip coffee maker (that used to fit standing on the counter under the nozzle of the old Tiger). It will not fit under this new, squatter Tiger, so I have to slide the machine over to the edge of the counter and hold the cup and dripper out over the floor, to fit under the nozzle. (a minor gripe)Overall, this seems like a good machine. Have only had it a bit over a month. Time will tell -- hope it lasts as long as the last one.

Great product!
We had the smaller 2.2 Liter water heater that lasted about 12 years. It's only downfall was it started to have rust inside the water tank. Time to replace it. After reading reviews we decided to go for the 3.0 Liter. It's about the same size at the 2.2 Liter in height (so it fit under our cabinets) and just a bit wider to hold the additional water. We're big tea drinkers so a couple pots a day is not uncommon. It works perfect. One feature the 2.2L didn't have is a LED temperature gauge. Tea usually set at 194 - the 2.2L had a "light." But when folks in the house forget to add water and you find it near empty - then you had to fill it up and wait for the light to go on. The 3.0L with the gauge lets you see where it is, thus I don't have to wait till 194, I can fill up the teapot at 185 and be just as happy. The 3.0L of course does how considerable more water. Our daughter uses it for making soup. So it has a lot of uses (piping tomato's, etc.). Well made. Quiet. Reliable. Highly recommend it.

It's amazing...
I don't know how I ever lived without this thing. I thought I was I was going to use it for tea but I use it for many other things also now. It's built well and operates smoothly. I got the 5.0L and I'm glad i did because that means less re-filling. And I use only filtered water from the fridge dispenser so it takes some time to refill 169oz! So doing it less often is nice. But this thing is pretty big. Bigger than I expected I guess. See pics attached. * Coke can added for size perspective. I also added a few pictures of the electrical plug because it is different than any I've ever seen. It is magnetic and comes out of the machine fairly easily (when I pull the unit out from under my cabinet to refill it). I imagine this is for safety reasons. But because it is magnetic it is also very easy to put back in. Super easy. So I don't mind this feature. See pics of that also.I'm very happy with it and I'm glad I didn't get a smaller one.
