This wax pen is helpful for shaping and doing delicate details when I'm doing wax carving, but it eats batteries like candy.

Best Thread Burner I’ve ever had. My last one lasted 6 years. The other brands I’ve bought either didn’t work when I got them or only lasted 6months to a year. This one was well worth the extra $10.I that’s even last 6 months and 2 had to be returned immediately because they didn’t work at all.

this worked great when I got it. It didnt last that long so I changed batteries and just figured it will eat thru batteries but I use rechargeable so no big deal. But since I changed the batteries it has lasted a long time so i think it just came with weak batteries. I use this for thread not wax and it is still possible to burn the fabric but less easily than with a lighter at least. The tip is fragile. it got bent once and I bent it back but I suspect it will break if that happens a few times. It is way too fragile to clean. I see residue on it but it does not seem to cause problems so maybe that is no big deal. Ive shopped around for replacement tips and they are available but seem pricier than they should be relative to the price of the actual pen. Itd be nice if it had included 1 spare but really I have not yet needed it so maybe not a big deal. Im happy with it. They make thread burners like this but the reviews indicate they are really poorly made so I was happy to find this. All this is, is a re-branded bovie cautery pen (for medical use) so I figured it would at least be functional and it is. no clue about using it with wax though!
