I bought this for myself after previously having bought a different (and slightly more expensive) set from amazon for a family member. I have to say that I was more impressed with this set (£8 cheaper)1)the quality was the same2) the packaging of this set is beautiful: an illustrated box, a ribbon tied neatly around it, a little note card with the name of the person who made it. It would make a perfect gift.3) the wooden pieces are very smooth and nicely finished, no splinters or jagged edges.4) the pieces are regulation sizeA few points to note (the reason for giving durability 4 stars):- it’s quite a light coloured wood so quickly stains with the grass and mud (I don’t mind this as I bought it to play with, not to just look pretty)- it’s not a particularly hard wood so it does get marked/ chipped over time (although most sets on Amazon are made like this except the ones over £100)- the instructions that come in the box are for a very simple version of the game. Watch a YouTube video instead as there are more interesting rules where you move forward to throw from your closest defender when your opponent fails to knock them over.Overall this is a great set that’s clearly been made with care. It’s the best set I’ve found in this price range and I’ve already recommended it to a few people as a fun way to get out in the garden whilst we’re all confined to our homes.

Beautifully made and presented set for this great game. Regulation size pieces (which make the game better to play - don't buy smaller pieces, it is just harder and less fun!). Well made, well finished.I'll probably let my children do some designs as we have brush pens for wood and they will enjoy it (lockdown fun...) but hey certainly don't need any decorating, that's just a plus point if you are buying this as a family and you would enjoy personalising the set. A proper family heirloom in the making!Good net bag to keep things together, lovely ribbon around the box which I will do something nice with, very much recommend this set if you're looking to purchase. It's a great game, more portable and easy to set up than croquet and I'd say more fun than 'garden cricket' or boules, but with a similar range of appeal to every generation. Good on all surfaces so a driveway, a beach, grass, gravel etc. doesn't matter, so that's a big bonus too.

Made sure I read all the reviews before settling on this Kubb set from Jaques. Definitely feel I made the right choice. Good quality, weighty pieces and nicely wrapped.As a Kubb novice, I bought it for a camping trip with friends (who had also never played) and we ended up playing at every opportunity! Its sucha fun game and because you can involve multiple players on one side or another by distributing the 'throwing batons'. It meant all the kids and adults could take part.Lots of people stopped to ask what we were playing and said they would be now making a purchase so I recommended Jaques to them all as the supplier to purchase from.Very happy customer.

I recently picked up this set after falling in love with the game while traveling in Germany. It's been a great addition to our garden, providing hours of entertainment for people of all ages. The regulation size of the game is a nice touch, especially if you're ever interested in competing. The only downside is that the wood is a bit soft, leading to some significant denting on the sticks after a few rounds of play.Pros: it's great fun, and the perfect game for large groups, plus the pieces are sturdy and don't blow over in the wind.Cons: although heavy enough to not blow over, we've noticed that the soft wood has got pretty dented in the games we've played so far, just through normal use.

We played this game at a friends house, who got their game in America. We came home that evening, and searched to see if it was available in this country and thankfully came across this fantastic set. Delivery was amazingly fast and we were playing it again a lot sooner than we thought.It's such a great game either as a 2 player game or as a team game. And as we are an outdoor game family we will have lots of fun out of this.Jaques of London, fabulous company, quality game and packaging, thank you so much.

Purchased for a family holiday. It was very well packaged and came with a sturdy net fir future storage. The pieces themselves are very well made and sturdy and delivery was on time. At the time I thought it a little expensive, but you get what you pay for - and this is worth paying that little extra for. I would recommend this game and this company.

This kubb set is ok but a bit flimsy as it's soft wood and very light. You can't play in windy weather as the pieces keep blowing over. I have played with sets made from solid, heavy wood and I would recommend spending the extra cash on a better quality set.

wood is way to soft for this game. each time you hit one kubb it gets a deep mark on both - the throwing stick and the kubb.unfortunately some kubbs already already splintered. i would def. not buy it again
