Soft. Not too hot. NO LEAKS after 5months of Abuse!
In case this review gets put on a bunch of things- this is for the HYPNOSER brand weight blankets. (I got 2 different weights)after I researched & read reviews on these things over a few years trying to figure out the best one. So this is a review with AALLLL The information i wish had been in a weight blanket review when i was looking!!Here goes:SIZE & 20lbI got myself the twin size 20lb. It was more expensive than 20lb queen but IT IS WORTH IT! The weight is distributed over the whole blanket so the smaller the size of the blanket, the more weight is in each pocket. So 20lb twin means i have more weight over my body than 20lbs spread out over the queen size. In my opinion the sand at the edges of the blanket is just wasted weight that could be on me.WEIGHT Ive always liked to sleep under heavy weight but i also overheat easy so having 17 blankets on my bed kinda sucked. Ive also had at one point before i heard of these blankets, a laundry basket on my bed against the wall full of clothes& junk i had to sort. Probably 15 lbs just in the basket and id find myself squirming to get under it in bed. Haha.It WORKSSo I use this blanket nightly since i got it in July. . It absolutely helps me feel more comfortable and sleep better. I have the top foot of it folded over so i have a double layer over my chest. The second the weight flops down on me i just instantly feel more relaxed and comfy. And tired. It WORKS.HEAT / TEMPERATUREI did not bother with a cover i just put it on top of the bedcover and put a thin quilt over it. Ive been using it since summer and I didn’t get too hot. That was one of my biggest worries. I OVERHEAT EASILY and had NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS BLANKET IN JULY AUG SEPT OCT IN NORCAL WHEN ITS SO HOT EVERYTHING IS BURNING DOWN around us. lol. (Sonoma county if you want to check climate to see if this will be ok for wherever you are) Id pull it up so it was not over my feet and id have the top folded down more over my torso. Being able to keep my feet out prevented overheating. It was same as any other year with normal bedding.CRAFTSMANSHIP /NO LEAKSMy other worry was if the sand would leak like I read in a lot of other blanket reviews. So far no leaks. No grit at all and i live in a cramped space so im always piling stuff on the bed. Walking over the bed (its a low futon and spans in front of the closet so i walk on the bed to use the closet. Also to reach the hangy tie back thing for the drapes. So the blanket has got straight beat up for the last 5 months straight and not a single grain of grit has come out of it.FABRIC/TEXTURESays its washable but im doing what i can to avoid putting 20lbs when DRY & probably 50lbs wet in washer. So no feedback on how it stands up to that, more worried about how the washer wouldn’t stand up to it! But This is a little sad because the blanket fabric itself is really soft but i dont want to soil it. I was scared from some reviews that the fabric would be stiff and scratchy. But its really nice. Its like a.. ?? Brushed almost feeling or favorite old t-shirt softness. I have texture issues so im very happy about the fabric texture.FILL DISTRIBUTION & AESTHETICSThe pockets are smallish. And keep the sand in its place well. This was the primary reason i picked this brand. Most blankets have square pockets that are big. That means the couple tablespoons of fill falls to the side bunching up in only one corner of the pocket so you have a blanket that feels like its flat everwhere except where a hard compact rock is in the corner (i have a weigh vest that does this so i know it SUCKS to have the sand shift & turn into just a dang little ROCK). Visually, the straight across blocks looks blah. I dont like the visual of it. At all. THIS blanket has SMALL DIAMONDS, think they’re maybe 4 inches vs a 7 inch square, it means more pockets, less ability for little rocks and its nice to look at.15lb GIFT FEEDBACK FM MOM I got the twin 15lb first both to see if it would be enough weight for me or if id need the 20lb And because my mom has trouble staying asleep so i wanted to get her one. it was too light for me, i used it one night to see what the weight was like but it felt like i had no extra weight on the bed at all. i gave it to my mom who didnt want to try it because she doesn’t like to sleep under weight. Prefers just a single sheet. But she gave it a chance, i told her theres a 2-4 week phase for your body to get used to them & I really wanted her to try it the whole time to see if it would help her. She waited til the weather turned cold to try it.Now she says she thinks it does help her stay asleep better and for longer. SWEET! I recently asked her if she was still using it ever and she threw me an unexpected curveball & said she uses it every night! Hah. Score. I win.PHOTO DESCRIPTIONPhoto shows diamond pattern & pocket size against a cd jewel case. Its been on top of that black comforter the whole time since July and as you can see, there is no grit/ sand that has escaped. Which im really happy about. Would have driven me Nuts to have grit on the bed. The reviews about leaks is what put me off getting a weighted blanket for a long time. This one has held up to abuse!SUMMARYIm about to get a third one. LOL

So comfortable!
I had a 7 pound, and wanted a blanket which was even more heavy. Rolled the dice on a 20 pound, and it has been great. It feels so secure. For me, the pressure is proportioned well. I've noticed that I stay asleep more consistently. Your mileage may vary, but for folks with anxiety, I've found this helps me be a little more calm, and night attacks do not happen.

Light sleepers need to buy this
Disclaimers: I do NOT have sleep anxiety or any health conditions warranting a weighted blanket. I’m just a light sleeper who was looking to try anything to get some deeper sleep. Also, I’m a 22 year old medical student, just in case anyone is wondering if this blanket is just for pediatric or geriatric populations.obviously this is a weighted blanket so of course it will be heavy, but I’ve seen some reviews saying the blanket wasn’t the weight the company said it should be. This blanket was 15lbs as promised, has held up to two weeks of constant use with only a very very slight leakage of a few beads. (That’s why I have to give it 4 stars, not 5), and has helped me get MUCH better sleep.I’ve always been a light sleeper and I twist and turn frequently throughout the night which sometimes wakes me up and makes it difficult to fall back asleep. This blanket is heavy and embracing enough to plant my legs flat on the bed. I’m not kidding, I went from tossing and turning every night to not moving an INCH with this thing. I’ve seen people compare the weighted blanket to a lead vest from a dentist office and I have to say that isn’t quite accurate. Lead vests are stiff and don’t conform to your body (I have to wear one every day in the hospital I work at). Sleeping with this blanket is more accurately described as sleeping on the beach with your lower body buried in the sand. In fact, this is basically an $80 quilt with sand stuffed in the square pockets rather than cotton. That said. I’d pay DOUBLE that cost for the quality of sleep i’m now getting every night (and I’m a total cheapskate). Speaking of squares, don’t let the term “diamond” fool you, this blanket ain’t got no diamond design lol it’s just small squares tilted 45 degrees to look like diamonds. I say that because the glass beads inside-which are the size of sand granules- do droop to one side when you sleep, BUT that’s not necessarily a bad thing; it secures the blanket in place. The only negative thing I have to say is that it does leak a small amount of beads onto my bed every night. I don’t blame the manufacturer, these beads are insanely small and will slowly leak through just about any stitching. To give you some perspective, if we pretend the blanket has 1 million glass beads in it, then it leaks about 20 onto my mattress each night. A quick brush in the morning gets them out no problem. If you’re on the fence about buying this ungodly expensive blanket, buy it, try it out for a week, then return it at no cost! It’s worth the try, trust me.

AMazing results
Bought this for my daughter who has ADHD and anxiety and trouble sleeping. She was able to go to sleep very easily and uses this nightly. I have washed this 20lb blanket a few times in the front load washer and dried in dryer on low heat as well; comes out great. The weight distribution is really good, I like how nice and small the "pockets" are for this. The blanket is great quality and i highly recommend it for better sleep as well as to help with anxiety.

Good quality
The 12 lb blanket is perfect and not always easy to find. The tabs to attach to a duvet are small and barely noticeable so you don’t have to worry about seeing them. The fabric is nice and doesn’t have to be used with a cover if you have other blankets/sheet on your bed to act as a buffer between you and the blanket. I was hesitant because of the hype and cost surrounding these blankets. I wish I would have bought one sooner. My daughter had surgery 7 months ago and she go her first full nights sleep with this blanket this week. I also bought one for myself. I tend to be a light sleeper and hear everything. I too have gotten a much better sleep.

Great purchase for my child!
Daughter was struggling to sleep and this was suggested as an alternative to support her. She has had great sleeps for a week, longer and is waking up in a better mood.

Improved sleep, very happy!
From first or second night helping me to sleep much better. At first thought 20 lb was going to be too heavy for me, but have easily adjusted; my weight is 190 lbs.; hope that will go down with better sleep, LOL. I bought a weighted blanket cover to keep the blanket clean and I won't have to put it into the laundry much.

I love this so much!
I got the 15lb queen size, which should be a bit too heavy for me, but I actually really love it! I have ADHD and sensory issues, so I like things right on my skin when it comes to clothing or blankets. I only occasionally find I get too warm and then I just lift up an end and let some cool air in.It is so comfortable!I wasn't sure how the fabric would feel, it says cotton but the pictures almost look like a cheap poly, but it's not. It's really nice actually. I will put a cover on it soon, since that is always best to do, since you don't want to wash the blanket itself too much.I am so happy I bought this, especially at a price like this! When I get too chilly I just add another layer of a blanket on top (which is why I was getting too warm with it on occasionally) and it's perfect.
