Exactly what the Spigot ends needed. here in SW FL the brass? ends and hose ends corrode easy (2 different metals) and if your not cleaning them like monthly well you end up doing all kinds of replacement work. These ends can be used on the end of a hose for easy nozzle replament or at the spigot .

Whether it is brass to aluminum alloy or stainless steel or brass to brass my well water will corrode the fittings and fuse them together. If in place long enough it will eat them alive. So by placing plastic between the male and female hose ends they do not fuse together. The shut off valve is nice but not necessary in my case but can regulate water flow. These are well made simple to use and come with washer installed plus 13 extra hose washers that come in handy.

These hose valves are great. Got six of them for almost the same price as one brass valve. Works perfectly

Everything near salt water corrodes and rusts, oxidizes, turns cruddy. If you use these betwixt the metal hose bib and metal end of the hose, use pipe dope for extra fun and your fittings will come free when needed.

Buy several because they crack over time.

Work very well. All the metal ones corrode or rust. These plastic ones do the job without that problem.UPDATE: I was worried about the single metal part, the screw that holds the knob, possibly rusting later. Therefore, I removed the screw and tested it with a very strong magnet. The screw was NOT attracted to the magnet, indicating 'stainless steel' or other rust-free metal. So much the better. I've bought these twice! Love 'em.
