NICE!!
I bought the Cub Bear Caping Knife to add to my small collection of Knives of Alaska that I use for all of my camping and hunting trips. I already have the Elk Hunter and the Pronghorn Hunter knives. The addition of the Cub Bear Caping Knife will give me the finest, must useful set of knives that I have ever owned. You can tell that all Knives of Alaska are made for rugged use in the field. They stay sharp, and don't break down or come apart like some other brands that I have used. You can spend more money but in my humble opinion you can't buy better outdoor knives.I only wish that Knives of Alaska offered nylon sheaths as an option. The leather sheaths are very nice, but I just like the 'fit' of nylon for hunting and camping.

Great knife
Good knife for the money, razor sharp and feels good in the hand. Figment on the handle could be better. My black side plates don’t match up the greatest. But I bought this knife to be used, not look pretty.

Great little knife. Never go hunting with out it.
I use it for white tail. last year field dressed and processed a whole deer with only this knife. Its small for butchering but works in a pinch. D2 takes a bit longer to sharpen but holds a great edge, Over all great knife in a small package. Its always in my hunting vest as my back up knife.

Knives of Alaska caper
I bought this for my Dad. I chose this one bc of the D2 steel. So the knife rating is really a 4.5 stars but for whatever reason half stars aren't available for selecting. I own a 8" gutting knife from knives of Alaska. I bought it 20 years ago. The blades require Diamond plates, hard work & almost professional knowledge to sharpen, esp if your like me and appreciate the dual beveled blade & want to keep it that way. Which for the price and the longevity of the knife, you should. I would have given it 5 stars (like my knife) except the sheath is not 100% full grain leather inside & out. It's leather on the outside but not the inside which was a bit disappointing bc the purpose of the knife means it will be constantly used. The knife itself is well made & has full tang. As far as use & longevity, we'll have to see as hunting season is around the corner. This review is to be continued.

The knife is as advertised
I purchased the knife for skinning squirrels which it has been the best tool for the task that I’ve owned. I’ve also used it to skin hogs and deer which I know it’s not necessarily made for, but the precision you have while cutting make it enjoyable. Knife came very sharp out of the box, and is easy to return it to the same level of sharpness. It’s a great little knife.

Good Bang for the Buck
I Love knives of Alaska. There are better ines out there but these are certainly worth the money. Make sure you cleanand wipe down with an oily rag ir they will rust. They really hold a very sharp edge.
