Great book at a great price.

I am have been reading self, family, relationship Help books for YEARS, and of them all this book which I purchased in the audio format is now one of 2 I would recommend, and have recommended to couples who feel hopeless, unloved and frustrated in their marriages. In my own marriage, I felt as though I had become more like an appliance. I felt as though again I had made a mistake about getting married. How I was treated before marriage seemed completely different after marriage. I was not feeling loved. No matter how hard I tried I could not seem to communicate to my spouse what I needed to feel loved. I will be honest, I had all but given up hope on having that marriage we all dream of, divorce was not an option and so I came to find a book in audio format as my husband was not a big book reader. Thank you Gary Chapman. Upon receiving the cd I showed it to my husband and asked him if he could listen to it on his way to work. I gave him time, and about a week later he called me from work, which he rarely does, to tell me "honey the light has come on". I get it now. He had always thought his working was enough for me to feel loved, or his just saying "I Love You". These were great but not what I needed. He now knows how to make me feel loved, and I too am more aware of ways in which I can make him feel loved. After all isnt that all we really wanted, to be married, and feel loved? This is not a religious based book, although it is used in a few analogies to explain his point. Excellent, highly recommended.

Sometimes things don't go as you'd like them to. When I ordered this book I suggested to my paramour that we make time to read it together so that we can both understand what it is that we are missing in our relationship. So, we did and we read four chapters that night and we both were amazed by the many coincidences that were written in the book.I found the book very helpful and useful where it gave me some pretty good in-sight as to what I was missing as well as understand the signs of an empty tank.The down side is that I am no longer with my paramour due to her stating that I should have known her love languages and that if I need a book for guidance, then I should look for someone else who would get more out of it than her. the following day I got a text that read she is deleting my contact information and is no-longer interested in being in a relationship.I'm giving up on love and taking up sky diving.

If you've ever been frustrated you expressed love to your spouse and felt you weren't appreciated, read this book. You'll learn that you probably gave in the way you like to receive vs. giving in the way your spouse wants to receive. This book cracks the code on how to give the way they will really feel loved. The model is pretty darn simple to learn and its also pretty easy to figure out how to adjust what you do to get better results in your relationship. If both of you do this, life will be much better. Ladies... If you buy this for your man, make sure you read and act on it too ;-) Make sure you talk about it together.

This was what my husband said after he heard the CDs. I got this CD set for my husband, after I heard about and read the book. It explained one side of common dissatisfaction in the marriage quite well, in a way that we could relate to, plus offered useful tips for solving it. My husband would never sit down and read a book. But he likes talk radio, and in this format, he was able to become familiar with the five love languages and how do things in a way that I can acknowledge that he is making an effort to please me. And vice versa. Now he keeps mentioning how he likes to keep my "love tank" full. (a book euphemism for general satisfaction in the marriage)

This is a great book, and the fact that there are so many different versions makes it the perfect gift for anyone male or female, single or married. Gary Chapman writes the Five Love Languages in a way that you can apply his teachings to every relationship in your life, not just romantic relationships. After reading the version that best fits your needs, it is hard to not want to share what you've discovered with your other loved ones. 100% recommend this book for everyone. Additionally, Gary Chapman may touch on some religious views that may not apply to everyone, but his books are written in such a way that it does not interfere with the overall teaching and message.

Bought and read this book for my ex. I read it good information although she still left me because she didn't like my love language. Lol

I can't say that this book or any other by the author is an instant fix or a miracle per say... It is indeed, however an AMAZING help in the way of getting two people in a love relationship (well any relationship for that matter) to open up to one another. To make someone who isn't "about opening up" realize just how important that may be. An important tool that I would recommend to anyone who may feel distant or disconnected from a loved one. A refreshing perspective that is simple enough to actually make you feel kind of silly for not having thought of it sooner :) Thank you, Mr. Chapman! A million times over.
