Q: I didn't realize until i opened this set that it says you have to have the free folk starter set. is this true? i have the stark starter set.

Yes you do need the free folk starter set, since technically this is a separate faction. As of now there are sets for the Starks, Lannister, Free Folk and the Nights Watch.

Q: What size are the miniatures?

Between 28 and 32 mm . Haven't really sized them, but definitely in that range.

Q: How big are bases? Would the model fit on a 50mm X 75 mm?

I believe they come on a 50 mm base out of the box. So they should fit the size base you mentioned.

Q: how tall are the giant figures?

There are 2 sculpts in the box. One stands about 2.5 inches (7cm) and the other stands about 3 inches (7.8cm).
