PENDA, Heathen King of Mercia: his Anglo Saxon world.

This book is awesome. If you are into the history of England in this time period, the period Bede writes about, this book makes the story so easy to understand. After reading this I think I have to go read Bede again now and I'll probably understand it way better.

Pete Jennings' book provides a wealth of useful details about the life and times of King Penda of Mercia, the last major Pagan king in England. This is great little book, well researched and written in a lively, accessible style. It will be of interest to modern Pagans and Heathens, re-enactors and those with an interest of the early history of this land. Highly recommended!
