The Day We Met: The emotional page-turning epic love story of 2020

~ POSSIBLE SPOILER ~So the book itself was nicely paced, it wasn't tediously slow. The story was nice but for me, the ending, although realistic, ruined it because it just seemed like the author wanted to create a plot twist but it failed because it all happened so fast, in the course of 5 or 6 pages. It was also a really dissapointing ending because throughout the whole book you're rooting for the two protagonists to end up together and when they do, its like, nope you can't have them be happy.

Safe to say I loved this book. I was drawn to it after reading the description, I felt like I needed to read it after facing a similar situation myself. The way the story follows both characters really gives a good insight on their own emotions and feelings. This book is an emotional rollercoaster, I’ve laughed, smiled and the ending made me cry. I’ve seen a couple of bad reviews on here regarding the ending- but to the me the ending is a realisation that we must follow our happiness before we run out of time. A captivating, beautiful story and a book you won’t want to put down. Thank you Roxie x

This is the best book I have read in a long time, I felt so many emotions, was totally invested in the characters... The last few chapters I cried, sobbed and my heart broke... Will definitely read more by this author but my god will I be watching out for sad endings

What a brilliant book, devoured it over 2 nights, the word 'unputdownable' is often used too freely, but not in this case. The writing is excellent, and I found myself really buying into and rooting for the characters, despite there being a bit of a moral dilemma at the heart of the circumstances of the two lead characters' relationship.This is really well written and so emotive, actually found myself in tears at some parts, so good is the writing, lots of twists and turns, highly recommended. Loved this book; easy to read; pick up and put down; clean pages and good sized print (am struggling as I get older!); the story is so easy to get hooked into; likeable characters but/and I was unprepared for the ending ...!! Fabulous love story, have Kleenex standing by! A great holiday read.
