Definitely shatterproof
Accidently gently stepped on one of the bulbs while it was the ground. Didn't put all my weight on it but it was under my foot. It didn't break but it did get a dent. It wasn't hard to pop out the dent. Bulbs look good hanging around the patio & my grandchildren are a little more protected from unnecessary cuts on their feet.

Amazing!
I I bought these to replace bulbs from a hand-me-down string of lights. My covered patio is always dark at night. I was happily surprise at how much light there is now!!!
