Yes, the Smart Buddie Booster Pump will work with 110-240V, however the electric plug is North American plug style. There is a low voltage transformer inside the housing and the pump is 24V.

Q: Can this be used in an (on demand) RO system that goes directly to the faucet without a pressure tank or storage tank (with float valve)?

I attach the tap water connection to my utility sink faucet, turn on the water, plug in the electric cord, and I get a gallon every 10 minutes. The unit is a pump to raise tap pressure of 45lbs/sq.in. to over 100psi for the r/o filter to work efficiently. Without it all of your input would end up in the waste stream.

Q: Pardon my ignorance but i have an older RO systen which we use maybe 5 - 10 gallon per day. Is this too little use for a pump like this?

This pump is made to boost the water pressure for people who are using a standard kitchen sink as their water source. A standard kitchen sink doesn't put out enough pressure for the water to get through an RODI system. If you have enough pressure from your water source to get through your system, you don't need the pump. Otherwise it doesn't;t matter how much or how little you use it. I only use mine for 5-10 gallons every few days. It's made to go with the RO Buddie system, which is what I have connected to my kitchen sink and it works great with the pump. I don't know how it will perform with any other RODI system.
