Carbon filter: great results, good price - if you get the right one...
I prefer this one over the similar GeekPure filter: better filter results (taste)Where we live there seems to be a “chlorine Monday” when the amount of chlorine spikes and you can’t drink the water anymore. We started with an under-the-sink filter bit quickly switched to whole house filtering once we experienced the result. In our setup we have a two-stage approach: first is sediment (to not add this load to the carbon filter), then the iSpring carbon filter. Can’t be more happy with the result: except for outside water, everything gets filtered niw. The cartridge life is still limited by time (6 months), not by volume in my case. However, make sure to change the filter after 6 month to keep the system “healthy”, even if you don’t taste a difference yet...August 2020 update: now that I have replaced this filter for the first time, I am running into the same issue as with the GeekPure brand. The filtered water still has a nasty chlorine smell. It seems like the quality of the filters in general varies from delivery to delivery. I don't know if I just got lucky with the first one working perfectly fine or have bad luck with the second one not working at all. Right now they have a 50% failure rate...January 2021 update: I gave it a final try and it turns out to be bad again. The now one-year old first filter from iSpring was still working perfectly fine. The new replacement however showed the same mediocre result in filtering the chlorine taste like the last attempt in August 2020. This is definitely not a filter to recommend.

Last 1/2 the time others lasts
I live in a rural area with a deep well. My water is good, but there is a light sulfuric smell. Other similar carbon filters last me about 2-3 months before the smell comes back but they were cheaper so I wanted to test this one which is more expensive. I told myself "what if it last 6 months for less than double the other one's price?"Well, it lasted about 5-6 weeks before the smell came back so the filter does the job, but sadly doesn't last as long as cheaper one's. Will not buy again

The best carbon filter
This ispring carbon filter works perfectly. Last a long time and removes the bad chlorine taste and smell. No noticeable drop of pressure. It’s the only one i buy now.For a family of 4. On municipal water i change it once a year.
