KlimaireDIY 12,000 BTU 19 SEER Mini Split Heat Pump Air Conditioner w/ 25-ft Pre-Charged Quick-Connect Installation Kit - 230V

I like to keep the bedroom very cold at night and I’ve been debated transitioning from a window unit to a mini split for a few years now and boy am I glad I did. I installed it 100% by myself in about 3 hours with basic tools. It’s averaging only 250-300 watts while cooling and it’s almost completely silent inside and out. Best $1200 I’ve ever spent. Highly recommended system.

Originally, I was very happy with this unit. Easy to install and it worked great... for about 18 months. Now, the heat function has quit working. It displays an error code of "FY" which is not among the error codes listed in the manual. After searching on the internet I finally found out that the error code indicates either a failed sensor or the entire indoor unit is bad. So, I'm no longer satisfied with this Klimaire product. I would expect it to last at least a few years, not a year and a half! At this point I don't know if the air conditioning (cooling) functions works because it is winter and cold right now. I guess I'll find out this summer. If the cooling function is out also, I'll be pulling this unit out and replacing with a different brand. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.

I installed this unit in my wife's She-Shed a couple months ago. I have not cooled with it yet, but so far it has kept the 12'x20'x10' space warm. I was worried about installing this myself, however it was not beyond my "home-owner skill level". The instructions could be a lot more detailed. I had to figure some things out via Youtube.

This was a great solution for my garage workshop, I wanted to take the edge off in the winter so I could work out there, plus keep the humidity in check in the summer. It was fairly easy to install but I was an HVAC service technician before I moved into an inside job in the industry. Everything was included except I purchased a cover for the refrigerant lines and electrical cable for the outside wall. It cleans up the installation but is not required. If you are a DIYer keep in mind the electrical connections needed, I ran a 240 volt circuit from the garage electrical panel and if you are not comfortable with this type of work for the love of God hire a professional for that part.Overall very happy with the purchase.

ease of install

After installing the product, it did not cool and determined to not have refrigerant in it. I received a new unit, reinstalled it, same issue. I had a local HVAC company come and diagnose it and confirmed no refrigerant. To vac and recharge was going to be very expensive, so after 2 months of trying to get it to work, I returned it.

Unit as advertised , simple to install. Pleased with low noise level.
