Works, read instructions and these reviews to learn how to wire if you are not an electrician

I bought this to use with my 12V garden drip system. I set up the time and watering schedule in seconds out of the box, I thought this was completely intuitive and didn't even look at the instructions. Next: wiring. I looked at the back of the time, saw some "+" and "-" and thought I had it figured out...connected it up to my pump and battery and nothing. Red light came on when I pressed manual, so I knew it wasn't broken. Figured the amperage rating was off and it wouldn't work for me after all (I need 15A to start the pump). Not too concerned since this thing is so inexpensive, I'll just look for something else. But first I double checked the specs and then saw the info in the Q&A and realized I did not do the wiring correct. Not even close. Next time my electrician comes over I will ask him WHY I had to wire it like the Q&A suggests, but for now, I watched the video in these reviews by the guy who shows you how to wire it to use for a lamp or whatever and now I have a working timer. I guess I am not as smart as I thought I was, but grateful to the folks who shared the correct wiring here.

Sometimes works, sometimes not

We have had this timer since May 19, 2024. Some display features sometimes work, sometimes not. Interrmittent operation. Timer can be set, but it doesn't take a user entered time. Instead, it starts and stops at a time that wasn't set by user.

Quite simple to use following the instructions, maybe need to replace CR2032 if it stops working

I had a larger version of this from years ago, and this one was about 2/3rd the dimensions of the old one so I was a bit apprehensive on the performance. However, it performs quite well and is easy to program after you fiddle around with it. There is a display that shows the current time and date, as well as whether it is on Auto or Manual Off/On. The bottom buttons are there just to program the time. To start, I first pressed the recessed "C" button to reset the parameters. Then, you hold the clock button AND press the D+/H+/M+ button to set the clock time. Press the clock button to finalize. Then for the program, you push and release the "P" button, which brings you to the "On-1" screen for the on time of program #1. You do the same thing and set the dates and the single time you want this timer to be on, then press "P" again to switch to the "Off-1" screen. Repeat the process to setup a stop time for program 1. You need to do this within 20 seconds of your last button push or it defaults to the clock screen and you have to return to that programming screen you were on. You can do several programs at once, but I only needed 1. The manual button can switch between a On mode, off mode, and Auto mode with a single press each time. It is indicated by the lightbulb symbol on the screen. When the relay is on, you will hear a click as it turns on and the top left besides the manual button will light up. You can also completely shut off the timer by holding the manual button for 5 seconds. The wiring is simple, with just a 12V power source to power the timer and another set of nodes for the relay wire. You want some female spade connectors and a crimper to wire this. The relay states it supposedly can handle up to 16A and 250 VAC of power through it. It mostly just closes a loop so you can actually run really low amounts of current through it too. The 16A is the main guideline maximum, so even if you relay 12V, I think you should keep it to 16A. This timer also runs off a CR2032 battery to maintain the clock even without a power source. I'm not sure how long this battery will last though and whether it will take power from the 12V source rather than the battery when it is running. The timer screen was already running when I got it and I don't know how long it's been. The seller could've shut it off with the manual button to save power. I think the top of the timer could pop off and you can possibly replace the CR2032 battery but I'm not sure as I haven't tried. That's my main concern is that the clock possibly relies entirely on the CR2032 battery and not the 12V power source.

Missing a Normally Closed Contact but now I edited my review because I hate it

Why you didn't offer in Amazon the CN101B ? Would it break your profits to use a internal relay with also a normally closed contact ? The case and the printed board has already the slot and hole to put this contact but you decided to save a bunch of cents installing on your device a relay with only a normally open contact. There are customers that need to timely turn off and then on, a equipment like in my case, I have to reboot every day a router and now thanks to your greediness I have to add a external relay instead of only hooking a pair of wires directly to your timer or using the enclosed relay to turn on the device which is a stupid idea since the enclosed relay will be activated close to 24/7/365 increasing the chances it's coil burn.Update on June 26 : I downgraded my review to 1 because this is a piece of garbage. I made the terrible "mistake" of pressing the reset button since pressing the clear button didn't help to erase the strange behavior after programming it's timer. Lo and behold I opened a can of worms because now is impossible to set the correct present day and time, it got stuck at Monday and no matter how I follow the included "instructions" there is no way to set the present time or the day. It just start again at Monday and 0 minutes and counting. In short don't waste your money on this brand or any other timer that looks exactly as this one because is made by the same factory.

Great timer

I got this based off of a YouTube video about automatic chicken coop doors and a 12v actuator. It works perfectly and I have it wired to an outlet not a battery. His video was very helpful and spot on. This keep military time though just remember that. That's not a big deal though.
