Very well made. Good clear instructions. Our old popper was wider, so we just cut a hole and fitted the door into that.

Been operational for about a month with no issues.Easy to set up and does what it says on the tin.

Really pleased with this so far, it's worked seamlessly and reliably. Sturdy looking. Was concerned about it running on batteries, but apparently there's a "low battery" light

An essential to every chicken owner. Very easy to install and set up. It opens and closes according to sunrise/sunset. The company, run-chicken have been amazing- even after several months they were on hand 24/7 to assist with minor technical issues which were resolved very quickly. Highly commended customer service and great product. A must buy.

I live in Ireland so it's not extremely cold but it's wet. This door, however, hasn't had a problem at all. We've been through a winter cold snap of -6 and two storms (not too mention the usual rain) but the door has kept going. It's not fully exposed as I have it under a part of the run that has polythene over the top, but it can get wet and is certainly taking the frosty weather. I originally tried a cheaper brand of door and was extremely frustrated. The cheaper door opened and closed perfectly in my kitchen but wouldn't work as soon as it was damp or chilly.So I'd definitely recommend this one even though its that little bit more expensive.

It works ok. A couple of mornings it has stuck with ice but it generally works well.

Initially worked ok then stop working, despite changing batteries etc & considering there are cheaper versions out there I would not recommend this product - keep well clear

Easy to install and very reliable. Hens love it as they are out early in the summer. Saves me time in the evening and hassle free when I’m away from home.

My chickens love it! It was easy to install, and has worked consistently ever since. My birds are so happy they don't have to wait for me to get out there to let them out every morning! And it's worked even in the cold SK winters.

My chicklets love this! I just replaced the batteries (two AAs) for the first time since I bought this April 2023 (Aug 2024). It’s been running round the clock for over a year. I did notice it may have frozen once or twice in the winter however it gets extremely cold where I live (-30 Celsius) and the door was wide open to the snow and all so that’s probably preventable on my part by not keeping it dry and clear. This year I also got goats who share a pasture with the chicklets so I had to put a stopper above the door because the little stinkers can fit through it. It stops about 2/3 the way up and the door still functions well!I have mine set to open 7am and close 9pm and will adjust to the daylight setting as winter approaches and bedtime is earlier. You change the settings through the runchicken app and it’s such an easy process. You have to hold the button until it turns blue, press the button, and then select program on your app to change the setting and you’ll hear a little song to confirm it worked!Highly recommend

I've had a window screen cat flap for many years and the cats have come and gone as they like. But in recent times housing development in my area has put pressure on wildlife and now we have coyotes wandering our subdivision streets at night and sometimes in the daytime (and turkeys). I lost 2 cats to these coyotes. I closed the cat flap and then looked for another way to control when the cats could go in and out.I did not buy the cat doors that require a microchip because feedback mentioned that those collar chips had to be in a perfect position to work and the door makes a noise that scares shy cats. The cost of those cat flaps was the same as this Chicken Run.The Chicken Run door was big enough that my window screen cat flap could flap in or out with this in place and there would be no need for microchips so I bought one to try.I installed it on the inside with a wood frame butted up against the window screen cat flap and it works perfectly. It opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at midnight. The sound of it opening is not scary to the cats; now, they can come and go as they like during the day.Also by closing at midnight, it prevents any raccoons from coming in the door as well - which hasn't been a problem.I do recommend this Chicken Run door. Note that it runs on 2 AA batteries which ARE INCLUDED. Set up is done on your cell phone - you download the free Chicken Run app from the App store and pair the device to your phone. Then you set the times you want or program it to open and close by the sun's light. It's easy to program.I am very happy with this device.
