Seems OK, but time will tell
I use it for jimping knive spines. Works OK, but not sure how long it's gonna hold up. After just a few knives it seems like it's getting dull.

Exceptional file, very very hardened steel
This is a really nicely made checkering file. In fact it's so hard, I could barely engrave my name on it with a very powerful electric scribing machine I've had for the last 40 years. This is the first time it's met its match. As a blademaker, I tried it on my hardest tempered knife and softer metals as well, it makes perfect 20LPI checkering on both.

Excellent checkering file!
Grobet makes some of the best files and this checkering file is no exception. I am a hobbyist knife maker and use the file for putting thumb grooves on the top spine of my fixed blade knives. Works great!
