Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism

The story is great, a much loved book when I was a child and is now being enjoyed by my own child. However the book arrived in very poor condition and should have been advertised as so.

Another great Molly Moon adventure and one my 9 year old daughter devoured. Thoughtful narrative and robust characters make this a lovely and exciting read.

It is yet another English orphan tale. The story straddles US and UK having come from US thought it would be interesting for our old child. Orphan life is described in a very sad way. Take Harry Potter's life and multiply by 10. Lives of orphans are hard but this is pushing the limits of being acceptable read for a kid. What I mostly had the problem with was the messaging that using hypnosis is OK to control the lives/actions of bad people. It may be a cultural difference that I am not picking up or it is just the book. But I had some explaining to do as to why the bad guy (spoiler!!) does not go to prison but in effect becomes a slave of good guys.

This book, of Molly Moons Incredible, made an excellent birthday present.

Brought for my little sister who is 6, I read the whole collection as a child and was completely in love with these books!! Any girl would get hooked!!
