CyncGeneral Electric Accent Lighting Kit (Full Color Light Strip + Extension)

This light strip worked great under the cabinets at our lake cabin. The only light in there was the ceiling fan until we installed these. They make a world of difference. They were easy to install and so far seem to adhere great after cleaning the wood with rubbing alcohol.

I purchased this for an apartment kitchen that didn't have a window. It was always dark, even during the daytime. Being a rental, I could not directly adhere the light strip to the cabinet bottom, so I used Command Strip clips to hold it in place. What a difference! I can now see what I'm doing without having to turn on 4 overhead lights. Better yet, I can adjust the brightness and color of the lighting. It works great as a night light when the grandkids spend the night (I set the color to red and reduce the brightness). The ability to use either the app or Alexa to control the lighting is an added benefit. I have no complaints about this product. It works well for my needs.

I don't have these installed in there final location, just gave them a quick test. The main feature that I wanted to note is that the LED is 2". That's a lot for strips. Don't expect any kind of "neon look" with these even if placed in a good channel. I wouldn't use these in any application where I'm likely to see the strip directly. It should be totally fine for under cabinet lighting though.I will update this review with how the integration with Home assistant in its final install location went when that's done.

These can not be mounted to anything if you need to make an angle, whether looping or curving the strip like the instruction video shows. I even added a stronger adhesive to the strips and they are just too thick and stiff to stay mounted to my TV. AND... turns out you can cut these to shorten them but you CANNOT use any sort of angle adapter or flexible adapter to extend where you cut. I assumed some adapters would come in the box like other types of LED strips I've purchased before but, no.The material on the actual strips is also very sticky/gummy and immediately became dirty with dog hair or dust that was on my coffee table. Taking a cloth and cleaner to it just gummed it up even more.I didn't have any issue connecting the strips to the app, and I have other Cync products that I'm very happy with but this one is just a flat out failure in design.

I mean, this product is great. I really enjoy it, but my complaint is that I wanted to use it with voice commands to set the scene in my D&D campaign with my Google nest, that this product says it supports and does not. I was hoping to set the scene which was advertised, but all tutorials that are out there to set this up with scenes are super outdated or saying you cannot change the color with Google. So again, I am really happy with this product. I just wish it worked with Google nest more than, "Set the lights to 40%", blah, blah, blah. I will happily change my review if I am wrong.
