Disappointed

Bought one for myself and my daughter-in-law. Wonderful to look at, but tea would squirt out the lid vent hole when my husband would pour himself a glass. But, love the design so much, made a terrarium out of it.

Went to brew tea. Heated water in a kettle, added tea bag, let steep, then waited 30 minutes for water to cool down. Water was a little hotter than lukewarm, when pouring steeped tea into container, heard a loud crack, immediately stopped pouring water. Went to lift it into sink and the entire bottom fell off, spilling tea everywhere. While the container seemed to be well made, glass shattered, upon first use. I have a sun tea maker that unfortunately is too large to fit in my fridge and I regularly, brew tea, steep for 10 minutes, then basically pour boiling water into it, followed by ice cold water from the fridge dispenser, and have never had an issue, other then the suntea container being too big to fit inside fridge. Sadly this container costed twice as much as the suntea container.

I read some of the reviews of this dispenser and I decided to buy it anyway. A lot of people were saying it leaks. However, if you fill it to the "fill line" which is clearly marked, and you screw the cap on tight, there's no issues at all. There is a tiny air hole in the cap and when you put the dispenser back in the fridge, if it sloshes around too much, a tiny bit comes out from the hole but it's really not a big deal.The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that it's HEAVY and a bit hard to maneuver back in the fridge after filling it in the sink. Also, the spigot isn't as solid and heavy as I would like (it's a little cheap), but this is really the only glass dispenser out there if you're trying to get away from Brita or other plastic water pitchers for the fridge that lay horizontally. You really can't beat the size or the price on this one.
