Fun science game
This is a fun game. You don’t have to know science to play. Complicated enough and takes about an hour to play.

Great Science Game
Another great game from Genius Games! We have and love Cytosis and were really excited to see them release a plant cell version. It's beautiful, the components are well made, scientifically accurate, and fun. My 8 year old won the first round but there will be many more rounds to come.I absolutely recommend this game to people who are homeschooling, love science, enjoy worker placement type games, or just appreciate really well made games with a unique theme.

A+ in Biology
This has been such a great learning tool for reinforcement in my classroom. I use it for groups of early finishers for my advanced learners in my high school biology class. I wouldn’t recommend it for student’s who have not yet mastered basic skills in class. It’s also slightly complex at first regarding the directions, but my kids like the challenge of figuring it out and then explaining the rules to one another. I use little baggies to keep the cards and pieces together so that they don’t get lost. I actually have two sets now so that two separate groups of four can play, allowing for students to get more turns.

Very complicated
You need to have a deeper understanding of how cells work to play this game. The steps to trade in and out for a particular card and you know which one I mean if you have ever played this game is so complex that once you get it completely explained you really are the only one still playing.

Lots to learn
Lots to learn. But everyone enjoys the challenge.

Way too complicated
I thought this would be an incredibly fun game to play with my friends and coworkers who are all in the sciences. My friend was over and we decided to try it out before introducing it to everyone at a party--wow glad we did. With two master's degrees in cell biology and biological engineering between us, we gave up after an actual hour of trying to figure everything out. Here's what we learned:There seem to be two slightly interconnected game boards with a plethora of rules. The rules are actually an entire booklet. There are cardboard and physical tokens which are the same shapes/illustrations but are different things. What we didn't figure out:Where to even start on the board, how the game progresses, the objective of the game, how the tokens and pieces are earned and utilized, and where there could be an ounce of fun in doing so.Although we are good at biology, clearly we are bad at figuring out games. We gave up, not seeing the point, realizing we could not teach our friends to play, and not seeing where the fun was to be had. Overall, there were high hopes and they were not met. Degrees don't translate into sheer intelligence, and this multi-board board game was a humbling reminder of that. Although the physical construction, illustrations, pieces, and prints are high quality, the fundamentals of the game seem to be misaligned from what is supposed to be a game. Again, even if we put in the time, we don't see the actual competitive fun that would be had.
