Just So Stories: Original illustrated edition Paperback – April 26, 2022

This classic book is presented in a beautifully bound edition. I bought it as a gift for someone I love.

I bought this book for a baby shower where it was asked you bring your favorite book for children. I loved this one as a child, but hadn't read it in years. So I am now enjoying it again. One caveat: Times have changed since Rudyard Kipling wrote it. It isn't always politically correct, which I had forgotten. Case in point: How the Leopard Got its Spots. A couple very-very socially wrong words, words that would get your child kicked out of school or at least in detention and a call from the principal. Otherwise I am enjoying the heck out of this book once again, before it is sent forward as a gift.

This book was well put together. I have wonderful memories of my mother reading this book to us as children. I read other reviews that say that there are words and references that teach racism, and I didn't remember that, so I am going to read all of the stories before I read them to my grandchildren. The one story that I have read recently, The Elephant's Child, doesn't have any of that in it, and my grandchildren loved it.

Husband's been a fan of writings for years.

Every capitalized first letter of every story is missing . I was sent a replacement , same issue . As luck would have it , I had a sheet of rub off letters the correct size so I fixed the issue . Since I ended up with 2 books for the price of one i feel well satisfied .

I bought this for my nephew. It was one of my favorites as a student.

This is a reprint and not the original edition. However, it is still a delight to read.Kipling never gets old.
