This is great for learning about insect life cycles. I typically stick with butterflies, ants, and lady bugs, but my students were very interested in the other options as well. They are great physical representations for the classroom.

We are doing different life cycles in our homeschooling studies. These are perfect to go along with cycle worksheets. They are so detailed, very sturdy, well made educational toys. It depicts each stage of creature by 4. The kids retain information better with hands on, these are perfect for that to pass around the table (even with destructive preschool age kids) and really get a sense of what they look like! Not all are actual size of real life but they sure are painted that way. They come in a sturdy compartmented box you can easily store them in.

Some of the pieces are small so you must be careful with little ones but my pre-school age children love them and it is a useful tool for teaching life cycles.

These are large and great quality. Both our 3 year old and 5 year old love them. We paid them with life cycle charts and use them when going through lessons. They are large enough to see details, but our 3 year old likes to use a magnifying glass with them anyway. The 3 year old and 5 year old can say all the life cycle stages. Definitely worth getting the kit!

So, 3 of our 5 chrysalides fell from the lid. No shaking of the cup, just fell. Assured this is happens from the directions, I followed the directions for removing them and placing them in the habitat. Unfortunately, 2 of of the 3 struggled to get out of the chrysalis. I was there when they emerged. One I actually had to stick a toothpick through to help grab one because it was stuck under it's chrysalis. I was able to help it to the wall. But apparently it was still stuck too long and it's wings were completely crippled. A second's wings are deformed as well. Our butterflies also had a TON of meconium. Like, it looked a little like a massacre in there.They all survived to being released. We placed the two crippled ones directly on a cone flower we had in our garden, 2 flew away. 1 stayed to visit. Educational, but not a smooth process by any means.

Adorable set with great attention to detail. The bee even has pollen attached to its legs. Perfect for our homeschooling curriculum, but would also highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun interactive educational toy.

This is a great tool for anyone seeking to add in life cycles into their curriculum. I like using them along with real life observations of the insects.

I'm a homeschooling momma with boys boys boys… Boys love anything they can touch and play with while they learn. What I love most is that while these are not accurate size models they are accurately detailed so the boys can get a good look at what these insects look like without having to disturb the ones we find in the yard.
