Light Stopped Working - Quickly replaced via Customer Service
Initially, this was a great light. The app provided many useful features for setting up the light to function in your environment. Less than a year after installation, the light stopped working. It does not even respond to the typical on/off/on/off/on reset sequence. It is dead.I have sent an email to customer service and will update this review if they respond.Customer service is critical. If their service is excellent, they will be back to 5 stars. If no response, 1 star.Update:Customer service responded in what I consider a timely and courteous manner. Without hesitation they shipped a replacement light. In less than a week from my initial email to Ustellar, I received and installed the replacement light. As I said before, customer service is a key element of a product rating. Ustellar stood behind their product. I would definitely recommend this product. The rating is back to 5 stars.

YOU LIGHTS WON'T GO BACK TO MOTION SENSING AFTER YOU VOICE COMMAND THEM TO TURN ON OR USE THE APP?
DON'T FORGET! If the light is turned ON/OFF by Alexa or Google voice control, the light will work in Manual Mode. Manual Mode means you can manually control the ON/OFF or brightness, and the motion detection function will be turned off. If you want to have the motion light functionality active again, switch back to Sensor Mode, select the Sensor tab in APP or voice control it with "Alexa, Okay Google, set the yard light to Sensor Mode". It's crappy you must do this every time, but other than that, lights are pretty good.

Poorest mount design I have ever seen, worst software, worst instructions...!
It just blinked and blinked and blinked for 2 weeks .This review is best read while listening to the Mission Impossible theme. You start with a 'Uge base , then they want you to mount it on a ceiling fan type box with just the center supporting the entire weight of the light???Its redonkulous! (There's a donkey in that word somewhere, for a reason).Once you get this huge base mounted on a box, it sticks out from the house like a FOOT ! Ugly, wonky and extends past the overhang on the house so it's exposed to the elements, which we all know is not what these cheap lights were designed to withstand.Sooo, I had to open the light, shave off the screw studs to turn them into holes. Then was able to mount it directly to the house with 2 screws and a hole for the wiring to passthru. Caulked and good to go. Shouldn't have been that hard. Super poor design.-Now on to the wiring!Initial wiring was easy. BUT, because I was unsuccessful connecting to it to my home router, I had to take the light fixture on tour for the holidays using a 4 ft ext cord with wires poked inside (wide blade is the neutral, white wire). Cleared innocent bystanders from the Frankenstein area for safety and plugged it into the wall.-Now to the network...Unfortunately, most everything in our world is 5gz these days and many new routers won't even broadcast a 2.4gz network to even log in. That presented a big hurdle for me. I suppose they chose 2.4gz for range over speed, but, wow, what a pain! I had to find a 2.4gz network I could log into for the light and my phone. My home router just wouldn't connect for some reason.Tried my brother's NEW xfinity router. No dice !Then onto my friend's house. They happened to have a NAMED 2.4gz network (myhouse-2.4). Yay.Of course, my phone wanted to connect to the default 5gz network.I put phone in airplane mode .Had to disconnect from the 5gz network and force the phone to connect to the -2.4 suffix. That took a few tries. My phone just hates 2.4gz networks for some reason😂.-Finally, Opened the APP.App asked for location. NO.App asked for permission to take pictures and record video !! HECK NO!Bluetooth. NO.Had to enter the network ID and PASSWORD, no way around that, (more on security concerns later).-Looked for "Usteller spotlight"..not there.I chose "Add device ". Picked "lighting", scrolled to spotlights section, picked "PIR Light (Wi-Fi)".APP said to turn light ON.APP asked about the light FLASHING.I had to plug/unplug 3 times to get fast flash mode. Then App started scanning for the device .Finally it identified "Smart Security Floodlight"! YAY!It added it to the App and I was able to select it and enable motion detection.I just wanted full brightness, On for 1:20 when motion detected and then Off.Easy to setup once you jump over every hurdle they throw at you. Then unplugged light. Let it sit a while and plugged it up in a dark room. After power unplugged and plugged back in, it seemed to keep its programming. Thank goodness for small favors. Now I can throw it back into the trunk for the journey home in 2 weeks and hope it doesn't de-program itself.I really just wanted a bright stupid light. But I can't pass up a sale 🙄.- Alternative?I would highly recommend the wireless, solar, non-smart light over this one. It's impressively bright, cheaper, super simple and super efficient. 4 minute install...not 2 weeks of holiday stress. All of our future lighting will be simple solar. You can find it here...https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09YXPKGY2?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_imageAbout The APP -I was able to find an app for SmartLife with a Googleplay search and downloaded. It's overly complicated .At one point I hit a couple of help buttons and ended up with a CHINESE help page. Not very helpful. My concern is, why am I giving full access to my network and passwords and location to this Chinese app? Where is my personal information going?? Where will all of this private info ultimately end up?It feels like another Tick-tock fiasco waiting to happen.Apparently, you can't just set up a fire walled LAN, the spotlight REQUIRES INTERNET ACCESS to be programmed!! WHY?? I'll be changing my network passwords and deleting this possible spy app once the install is complete. I hope it doesn't leave a virus dug in somewhere. It sounded too good to be true...it is smart, but not easy.It seems the smarter appliances get the more stupid I seem to be. Overall, I just can't recommend this product for various reasons .

These only last a few months - UPDATED!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:Product is GREAT when it works. VERY bright. Works well with Alexa. Only problem is they eventually quit working. Some didn't work out of the box. Some quit working after a few months. The problem is always the same. They end up stuck "on" and you cannot get them back into programming mode. Power on-off-on-off-on and they do not blink to reconnect to the network. Such a shame. Had plans to replace a bunch of old floodlights with these but the reliability is just not there.UPDATE: 6/15/22: Upon seeing the review above, seller contacted me and attempted to help me troubleshoot the problem light. After concluding the light was bad, they offered to send me a replacement. I have to say, this is the 2nd time I've dealt with their customer service and they are AMAZING!!! I haven't had the lights long enough to consider them old or past their useful life, BUT I have had them longer than most places would take them back. What company reaches out to customers based on a review and offers a replacement? I'll tell you - one with EXCELLENT customer service!!I'll update the 2-star rating on the lights once I get the new one and have some time to ensure it and the one that is currently working continue to work with no further problems.Really WANT to like these lights. Have to give the seller major bonus points for their service.UPDATE: 10/2024: The last one of these quit working a couple days ago. It started "blinking" off and on, like it was in programming mode and then after that, it would only come on so dim when triggered by motion that you could barely tell it was on in the dark. I pulled it down and replaced it with another brand today. The new ones don't work with Alexa, so that's a disappointment, but I this is the 2nd light from the other brand and the first one has been working flawlessly for 16 months. I hope it keeps up and this one follows suit. It's a real shame. These are REALLY nice lights when they work and the Alexa integration is really a nice feature. They just need to work on the durability and they'll really have a great product.
