Q: Is this a screw on or does it need to be glued to the wall?

The answer is that it can be EITHER glued or screwed to the wall. Because my bathroom had been newly tiled I did not want to drill the tiles so I glued the toilet roll holder using the supplied adhesive and three years later it is still fine. However, with the towel rail I have not been so lucky and it has twice had to be re-glued, possibly because the towel is heavier than a toilet roll. If it happens again I will probably screw it to the wall as this would be a more permanent fixing.

Q: Does this come with screws supplied

Yes. You can either fasten the circular support bracket with 2 screws and wall plugs supplied, or you can glue it with the glue supplied. All instructions on what to do are supplied. This is a brilliant item, and I am fitting approximately 60 + to the hotel bathrooms in which I work

Q: What width is the back plate (where it attaches to the wall) of the toilet roll holder?

5.5cm diameter and 1.2cm deep. The bsck plate is a bit smaller in diameter but deeper than most that you will see in the DIY chains.

Q: I'm having difficulty gluing this to my tiles, any suggestions, please??

I suggest you drill a hole. I personaly dont think too much of glueing, there's a lot of tugging and pulling on a holder and drilling a hole is more secure. Just my opinion of course.Regards.
