About Time [Blu-ray]

Words cant do this justice. This is a wonderful film, that is not just entertaining, but is really about emotional intelligence and mindfulness.This is a lesson in how to deal with everyday life. Where an intrusive media profits off of our unhappiness by making us buy things we don't need, and compare ourselves to others. And an education system that fails to prepare us for adulthood.This is wonderfully made, and Rachel McAdams will cause you to fall in love with her character, as it seems effortless and real to her.I am a media lecturer, and this, and In Time, are required viewing for my students.

Didn't expect very much from this film but a few days after watching, I'm still moved by it. At it's core it's a rom com but it is really about all types of love - from eros to agape - in a wider context than the romantic relationship.Nice to see the evolution of the Gleeson and McAdams characters from awkward and insecure to solid and... secure. The bond between Nighy and Gleeson's character is beautifully played and, while she's not on the screen often, Lindsay Duncan is superb. For me she has the strongest and most heart-rendering line in the film, which I won't quote because it's a spoiler. Succinct and sums up the hope of longevity in love.

A great film; I have watched this twice now. I bought this film for 2 family members this Christmas. The story is so thought provoking; suddenly you feel very aware of how short life is, the things that make your life worth living, and how you can make each day count. I feel this is a must-see for...everyone...

I am in two minds about this film. There were a few moments that I found genuinely touching (the ending in particular) and I liked the message that it was trying to portray. However, I felt it was drawn out far too long and much of the film was unnecessary to the weak plot. It was recommended to me, but I certainly wouldn’t rush to recommend it to others. On the plus side, some of the scenery was absolutely beautiful and a joy to see!

Films about time travel are always going to be a bit iffy (what happens if you kill your own grandfather?) but if done with care can be quite entertaining if not up there with Shakespeare (e.g., Time Traveller's Wife). This one failed to follow its own rules in order to deliver the outcome. If it were only males that can time travel how did he transport his sister? If you can't go further back than a birth....If the underlying story and acting had compensated or been less mawkish it might have been OK. Personal taste issues include Bill Nighy who for me always plays Bill Nighy and it's not a great part.

Although I have not received my dvd yet, I know this movie very well I have seen it a number of times and enjoyed more and more every time I see it! I laugh cry then laugh again eyes full of tears! One Bill Nighy's' very best performances! An absolute must buy highly recommend it!

What a delightfully simple, yet profoundly wise, love story of interconnected souls. I also love that the characters are authentic, and the dialogue is soul-igniting, sincere, heartfelt, playful, graceful, engaging, passionate, and even raw with transparent honesty.I was very impressed by Rachel McAdams in the movie,The Notebook, due to her free-spirited, lovable and loving character being so convincing; and I admire her similar character in this movie as well.

Excellent cast who performed well in spite of the weak plot. Overly mawkish in parts and very predictable. I wanted to like this but was ultimately disappointed. That said, it is an undemanding watch which many other reviewers have enjoyed so maybe it’s just me looking for more than this formulaic romcom can offer.
