Worked perfectly
We suspected a small gas leak from our meter and this detector went off immediately that I pointed it in the general direction of the suspected leak. Very good.

Gas detector well worth the money.
Bought this item for my hubby to use when working on our new kitchen. He needed to make sure when the new hob and oven went in there were no gas leaks after instalation finished. It replaced his old tester (lost somewhere in the workshop). He says it is very sensitive and very easy to use. So he's chuffed. Well worth the money. Noreen

I write this as a registered gas engineer who deals with gas escapes on a daily basis.These pens are useful - in as far as they give an INDICATION as to whether a gas escape is present after I’ve done testing a property using the correct equipment. If I test a house and I find that there is a gas escape somewhere I tend to use this pen to quickly go to the areas that I know are prone to gas escapes - I then confirm my findings using a properly calibrated piece of equipment.This machine (like many) will be triggered with various chemicals, not just gas… so it’s very important that if you as a homeowner use this piece of kit and it start beeping at you - you should turn off the gas at the meter and call the phone number of the gas emergency line for further advice.Does this work - yes… should your life depend on something like this, no. Get your gas checked by a professional.Observations - no calibration date on packaging - no manufactured date - instructions not overly clear for a new user.
