Great for Spelljammer!

Painted this and added wind a Treant so it can be a living ship. Absolutely love it.

Anyone need a ship for your TTRPG? This is it. This is ship.

This ship is incredible! Easy to build, very clear and interesting drawn details on the wood, and a sturdy build that holds up under accidental tumbles. Excellent for any TTRPG that requires a ship, and it is compatible with pretty much any mini you have

Fantastic addition to our tapletop gaming

I had written into our TTRPG that the players would be going on an adventure aboard a pirate ship for a few months IRL time and began to panic as I realized how complex ship combat can be and how poorly just drawing a boat on paper could go. Cue this laser cut beauty. I found this ship as I was weighing the pros and cons of spending $500+ on a lego pirate ship and bought it right away. It was easy to assemble, the pieces are sturdy (I usually break things like this as I try to piece them together), and allowed for a fun multidimensional play experience. The players loved it and I bought a few lego cannons to add the opportunity to use ship weapons on enemies

Awesome Galleon for Any Sea Encounter

We have used this ship multiple times. The construction is fairly solid for being lightweight and the narratives it helps us imagine have been amazing. One of the better laser cut wood models out there. A must have for any sea faring campaign.

Excellent for the price.

So with the release of Ghosts of Saltmarsh I really wanted a ship model for my adventurers to use. However, most of what I saw on Etsy and elsewhere was REALLY expensive. I mean, they looked great, but really expensive. Also they looked hard to carry and store. This was the perfect solution. Affordable, light and easy to take apart and put back together. It's a good size to be an adventurer ship. Made of balsa wood that snaps together and stays with some included dowels. I like that it's printed with grids, making movement easier. Highly recommend.

Impressive value... especially if you take the time to 'fix' it!

So, obviously I'm a gamer. We're playing Warhammer Fantasy Role-play 2nd Edition. The party/players wanted to go all 'nautical' and explore the world at large. Ok... and oh crap! Now I need ship models/minis/figs at 28mm.So I perused Amazon and found this company. They have different ship layouts, in 3-D, with all the stuff you'd expect on a ship marked/etched on the wooden ship templates. Awesome, right? So I bought this ship, a galleon. Though a little tedious, it wasn't really that difficult to assemble (about an hour... with beer). It looked good, and would definitely serve the purpose; but it was basically a skeleton of a ship (which irked me). So I decided to 'fix' it.I added the masts (wooden dowels @ 1/2", 3/8 " and yard-arms @ 1/4 "). It's literally marked on the 'printed', laser cut wood where they go. This cost me about $2 in material. Then I bought some canvas cloth for sails (actually 'ticking' cloth... a yard of it and I used like 1/8th of it... but had to buy at least a yard). So add about $6. Add another $1 for upholstery thread to use for some light 'rigging', about $6 in glue (Elmer's clear and super glue gel), and BAM! Kit-bashed the hell out of it! One additional thing... modeling clay (like $5) used to stabilize certain aspects (masts) before gluing. The point: For about $16, I made (or at least I think I made) this model much more than originally offered. I spent $39 on this, so after prime account, tax, etc... maybe 40-something. Add $16 for a total of $56, and now it's a much better & useful game/scenario piece. It actually looks like a friggin' ship!So take note (manufacturer). At least include the masts and yard-arms (cross beams) in your build kit.Note: The crow's nest was made from a Dixie cup, cut down in height and painted brown with some leftover spray paint. I poked a hole in the bottom and made 4 slits/flanges that I fit onto the main mast and then super-glued. Easy-peasy and works well.Assessment: This model is functional as is, but if you really want to bring it to life and are willing to put some time (4-6 hours) and additional $ into the build, you can really make something spectacular. So why didn't the manufacturer do it in the first place... at least some things. That's why 4 stars. That's why I included in the above pics of the model I got (Amazon) that D&D/Wizards of the 'Screws Consumers' has put out. Honestly, it's friggin' awesome! It's also pricey ($150). It has the masts, arms, and sails... is fully formed, has moveable parts (doors, rudder, cannon doors), is fully formed/enclosed, and has removable/stand alone decks. However, it's cumbersome because of this.Alternatively, this wooden cut-out model allows for easy access to all decks, but looks kinda cheesy/cheap unless you 'modify' it. I gave my take on modification(s) if that helps. I hope it inspires your own creativity if you want to make this wooden deck model something more... what it should have been from the get go (IMO).Would I buy again? Maybe... and I did (Viking ship) which I 'fixed' as well with mast, sails, rigging, and even shields along the hull (no pic).Note: I did minimum rigging so that accessibility for figs was still an easy option. Beyond that, I simply 'googled' sailing ships/galleons to get ideas/understanding of where the main rigging went. Figs/minis depicted are from Amazon, Ebay, and Etsy... Blood & Plunder 28mm game. Cannon figs from Ebay (pippd & others).Hope this helps or perhaps inspires. Not a bad model for the price... but could be more. Enjoy & Game On!
