I worked with Lincoln Electric to find one of these and couldn't because of the numbers inside the helmet did not match. I even sent a Pic of the manual and still no luck model number did not exist. This is a true Lincoln Electric Welding helmet, why the numbers didn't match, i have no idea. I'm just an End-User looking for a replacement.With no luck i decided to buy a new helmet. I was looking here and saw replacement lenses for Lincoln helmets! Just needed to measure the opening and there it was! I ordered it, when it arrived I wasted no time putting it on and testing it. I have to say the clarity is much better than the one I had. This one had all the upgrades at a decent price. I saved by not purchasing a new helmet, i had just received a brand new Lincoln Electric 3350 Viking Helmet with all the extras and top features. I just wanted to replace the lens on my older helmet and I did with a better lens. Now I have 4 welding helmets, 2 i will loan out when someone ask to borrow one, the other 2 will be my personal Helmets and I already put "NO LOAN" labels on them!

Bought this because the last one I bought from another vendor quit working.

I have they YesWelder LY500 without a battery compartment. No cover to remove, I am sure it is inside and glued closed. Not worth opening and replacing the battery I am sure it has. There are a few unit replacements that do have this battery cover hidden at the cover, not this one. This fits great, but the wire for the control might interfer with the case, just make sure to cut this plastic so the wire is not pinched when installing to the frame. Make sure to check this, I just used a razor blade to cut that area open and the wire fit fine.Has an Off position that clicks into place, nice touch when you fully rotate the switch all the way counterclockwise. Make sure to get the knob off using a wooden stick and replace it in the right position, otherwise you'll miss the Off function. Great deal and works.

Quick and easy to in stall and more than half the price of a new hood what more can you ask for.

Very clear view. Dropped right into my old harbor freight hood. Came with 3 extra batteries. Seems solid. I only have a couple of hours on it, but this is the best auto darkening lens I have ever used. Crystal clear vision. I had the darkness set to 10 and could see the weld puddle very clearly and could see where I was going too while using a 7018 stick. Turned my old cheapo backup hood into the go to hood for 25 bucks. IMPORTANT... Turn it off when you are done or the battery will run down and you will get flashed when the batteries get too low. Turn the darkness knob all the way until you hear it click. The battery that was in it was already drained so I just started out with one of the backup batteries. Very happy with this purchase!

I have a very early version auto darkening helmet, 30 years old probably, that finally quit working. This was a perfect fit and easy to install. Now my helmet is better than new.

Was missing battery cap. no help from supplier. Second darkens for split second then off.

Fit my twisty helmet, had to open up the mounting shelf a little but fit fine otherwise. Works as expected with good view of work and fast switching. Highly recommend
