I've been using this salmon oil for 6 mths with my son who has speech delay. Within a week of taking this oil. He went from only using words To speaking in sentences. I wasn't sure if it was simply coincidence. My 2yr old granddaughter also has been taking this for 3mths. And seems to be more alert, talking more and has grown taller. Previously she was very small, and using no words.This oil has a mild fish smell and flavour. Not at all offensive. I decided to try salmon oil over cod liver as it pure and unprocessed. And least likely to go rancid. My only gripe is. I wish it came in a larger bottle.

If you want WILD salmon oil that has no rubbish, fillers or flavours (usually added to hide rancid oils by the way) you really can not do better, such a good product I highly recommend. Oh and their is NO fishy taste whatsoever!

Too expensive

Further to the point regarding vitamin E; it is typically d-alpha-tocoferol that is used to protect the oil from oxidation. Research indicates that the use of this type of vitamin E will increase the risk of getting cancer in the long term. The reason is that alpha-tocoferol displaces delta-tocoferol, delta-tocotrienol (and presumably the other -tocoferols and -trienols as well). This predispose to cancer because delta-tocoferol and delta-tocotrienol has a particular apoptotic effect on some types of cancer cells. The solution would be to use a whole, natural extract of tocoferols and tocotrienols, rich in the delta types. Or use another antioxidant and ship in a protective atmosphere. I think it is a good call for PolarPower not to use alpha-tocoferol.

This is what The North American Spice and Herb Company said when I called to obtain more information about this product:-Use head and brain of salmon to get oil because this is lowest in toxins (blood brain barrier naturally keeps out toxins)-No heat or distillation because of no or low toxins-Cold pressed oil-Use sockeye salmon from Alaskan waters which are cleaner fish to begin with-No synthetic vitamins or anything synthetic in their products-Rosemary oil acts as a natural preservative-Probably purest fish oil on the marketHere are some of my own thoughts: Compare this healthy salmon oil with other fish oil companies that use cod (moderate in mercury), krill (unclean shellfish), and skate (unclean ray). The liver of an animal can be unclean or toxic like a filter becomes dirty. Also, I can more easily get this salmon oil into my children than cod liver oil, especially the fermented kind which they could hardly swallow.

I love not the taste of this product but the Omega and all its healthy contents was great to me. I wish the fishy mouth odor wasn't present especially when I had to work. I wasn't trying to speak a lot, I didn't want people to look at me funny. Overall a great product I will buy again soon.

I have to admit I was using a slew of supplements when I had purchased this and DID notice improvement in eye dryness and vision. I'm not sure what role this played, but sockeye salmon contains the most astaxanthin of all fatty fish. My opthamologist told me actually EATING the fish is of more benefit, and he's right, but that too is expensive. I wish this was less expensive, so only 4 stars. Also, I couldn't take the recommended dose because that would have added to the expense.

This stuff cleared up my brain fog in a few days. I am super focused all the time now. I use a syringe to fill up some gelatin capsules so as not to waste when it goes down. I’ve also noticed I’m more motivated to exercise. Easily one of the best supplements I’ve spent money on.

If you love salmon this would be perfect for you. But if not, I would not advise you to buy it. I am not a big fish lover but thought if I put the oil in a smoothie it would be OK. The aroma was so obnoxious to me I had to throw the smoothie out.Sorry for the one star but felt I had to warn others regarding the very strong taste and smell.
