Great shake
I love these shakes they are the only ones I use you get a large amount of protein per shake (even more when using skimmed milk) and the flavour is actually rather surprising especially the cookies and cream. It's also great mixed with porridge oats. The second biggest selling point is the price for other protein powders you can be paying double or more for less, less protein per shake and less amount in terms of volume and why buy glutamine and casein separately when this has it in it.Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Not sure how this managed to get 4 stars
You're probably here because, like me, you didn't want to pay for MyProtein anymore since they decided to treble their prices. So I saw this "My Sports Fuel" brand going quite cheap and checked out the reviews. I quickly learnt that it wasn't going to taste good but that it would get the job done. I decided that was fine; I usually have banana or blueberries in my shakes and they handle the flavour anyway.I bought a 5kg bag and, when I opened the bag, was greeted by a strange dust cloud. I've never had that with any other brand but whatever, maybe it's lighter/fine. I quickly discovered a bad smell from that cloud; I want to say along the line of cleaning products but not quite like that. Again, whatever, I didn't buy it to sniff it.I made my shakes and I always use a blender as those shakers just do not work. I also always make 3 or 4 and refrigerate them as chilling them makes them nicer in my opinion - I actually really enjoy my breakfast shakes with other brands, my favourite meal of the day. So I made one with My Sports Fuel and, as predicted, it tasted disgusting. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was the texture. It was what I imagine it would be like to drink oil. It was just so thick, it was almost solid. So, not only was the taste bad, but you couldn't knock it back because it was like drinking a smoothie - I've never had that with other brands. The worst part was that, even though I'd used a blender, it was almost like I could feel individual particles of whey going down my throat. As if they hadn't blended. Really unpleasant.I tried a few different shakes - the taste improved a bit with banana instead of blueberries but that texture was still awful - but eventually decided that I couldn't eat this stuff and binned the bag. Unfortunately, you pay for quality it seems, so I'll be forced not to cheap out in the future.

Amazing for the price!
Normally buy from bulkpowders as I can rely on the taste of their products always being to my taste, no strong chemical taste as I think USA based products tend to include as some marketing guy once thought people would think it was doing you good if it tasted of something like medicine? Seriously I've actually read this may be the case!Anyway this protein was way, way cheaper (the price at the moment!), so thought I'd give it a go... I'd rather have given the chocolate a go but was out of stock, so bought this as a mix and chuck affair. It mixes well with water, texture very similar to the normal bulk powders/My protein kinda stuff, the taste is kinda band, not super sweet or a strong taste of anything... bit like unflavoured with a bit of yellow colouring in and a few drops of vanilla essense really. Your not going to want to make it into a dessert or anything, but actually bland is better than strong over sweet/chemical taste so will (thanksfully!) get through the massive bag. Will actually try the chocolate when I get through this.

Good for the price
I bought this because I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Optimum Nutrition Gold standard. Compared to ON Gold, the advantages are: it is half the price per kilo of the best value ON Gold and I think it dissolves in liquid better (possibly because the powder is a lot finer). The disadvantages are: it doesn't taste as good (which is expected I guess) and it definitely doesn't taste of salted caramel peanut but it doesn't taste awful, and it has slightly more calories per scoop. There isn't a huge difference in the GDA information, holding the two packets next to each other shows that you would be consuming similar nutrients. Another point to note is that it is very thick, you have to add a lot more water per scoop compared to ON Gold. I would say it is not as good as ON Gold but a lot better value. I personally didn't get any stomach discomfort which, reading the reviews, I can see a lot of people did. I would choose this over ON Gold most of the time.

Not great.
I can confirm there was a strong artificial smell upon opening. It doesn't have a nice vanilla taste and in fact its the worst vanilla whey I've ever tasted! It has a taste like the worst packet cake mix you have ever tasted. It's hard to mix. Even with a few minutes of shaking in a proper shaker it's still lumpy..However it tastes better the more milk you add. 400mls made it taste a little better.I will finish off the packet and never buy Sports Fuel again. If you want a cheap whey protein and aren't bothered about the taste, then this is for you. But I will spend a fiver more and get a decent brand next time.

Very fine powder means a bit messy, lovely vanilla-like smell and tastes fine, great value
When sold at £12/kg delivered this is great value. I like the taste which is like sweet biscuits I guess and a bit more or less water means you can have it as thick or thin as you like. The fact it's so fine (think cornflour) means it's easy to spill powder when scooping out but, that's not a big issue. It takes a bit of shaking to get it perfectly smooth but again, that's fine. I'm not using protein powder for the experience of drinking protein powder, I'm having it to consume as fast as possible to bulk-up. Why pay more!
