Genius!
This is, without a doubt, the most incredible invention anyone in the Crochet world could have come up with!I started having hand problems in the early 90s. I had it all! Soreness, numbness, tingling and sharp shooting pains with certain hand movements such as the kind you subconsciously do while crocheting. After all the surgeries it finally came down to having to leave my job and learn something new and stop my beloved crocheting. The hooks were too small for me to grasp. Such as it was until about ten years ago when I decided to pick up my hooks and resume the one thing that brings me total happiness! But again, the hooks, while not having used them for a great period of time, were still too small. My husband bought me entire sets of hooks with larger handles which gave me relief but still slowed down my activity with the yarns. Then I saw this handy little item in a catalog. Being a longtime customer of Amazon I naturally had too look this up. Not only a great value for the price but also much less inexpensive that the catalog price. Not knowing what to expect my handle arrived. I immediately grabbed my hook and tore my package open. The only thing that could be improved upon is the instructions for usage. I quickly figured it out though and got the hook placed in the handle and picked a pattern and yarn and set to crochet away.Okay, right away, the handle fits nice and snug in your hand. The upper part of the handle, the green portion, is perfect! This is where you'll grip the handle the most. You'll notice that you can create your stitches much more easily. You'll find it much easier to keep tension on your yarn with your other hand because you're not concentrating on the pain in your hook hand wrist. You'll see your personal "crochet style" return with nice even, flat stitches. The handle is so comfortable you'll soon forget your even using it because once again your focus is on your chosen pattern and your piece progresses as it used to.Changing hook size is easy and quick for those who work up a pattern that requires two or more hooks for completion. I even crocheted up a small pouch to keep my washers in so I wouldn't lose them. I cut the tiny washer color from the back of the package and dropped it into the pouch as well. When changing hooks I just quickly glance at the chart to see which color washer goes with which size hook and its just that easy!I love this handle so much I bought a second and I'm seriously thinking of buying a third! Chances are you'll love the handle just as much! I've used Boye hooks for years so I've already had faith that any product with the Boye label is made with a quality you can trust. Amazon, of course, has made it easy to get the crochet accessories from the company you love! So, seriously, if you suffer that pain of repetitive motion do yourself a favor and just try this handle out! Bet you'll be buying a second too!

Wrist saver!
I have been crocheting over 5 years and have always experienced hand and wrist pain that can last days. My family and I often joke that I am an old lady at heart but sometimes my hands make it feel true. I am 22 and do many crafts and worried about what impact crocheting would have on my joints if they hurt so much. I wanted some ergonomic hooks but felt it was kind of wasteful to buy a whole new set when I already have one. When I found this product I figured it was worth trying for the price. I am so pleased I did! The handle opens up your hand and reduces finger cramping (and calluses), and since the handle has a slightly rubbery grip texture not much pressure is needed to hold onto it. The large size also requires less wrist movement to manipulate the hook which reduces pain. Over the years I have reduced the amount of crocheting I do due to my pain but after using this I don't feel reluctant anymore! Since using this product I haven't had any hand or wrist pain from crocheting! This would be a fantastic gift for any crocheter in your life, including yourself! In some of the other comments some people did say they dislike that the rings dont have the size on them, and that the label needed to be saved. I found a (2 if you own boye hooks) very simple solution to that problem. I just leave the rings on their designated hooks and store them that way. There isn't many reasons to take them off. Or if you have boye hooks, the rings are color cordinated to match the correct hook sizes. Another problem I personally found was that if you push the ring down like the instructions say, sometimes the 2 peices of the crochet dude feel loose. I simply don't push the ring down all the way, instead I let the ring be pushed while I connect the 2 piece.Overall this is a really great product for any crocheter and is well worth the price. Problems that are mentioned in other comments have very simple solutions. If I could give more stars I would!

Love this crochet hook handle
This handle works for me and the stress in my hand right now. I do like it and I would buy it again. Why the four stars? Well, might be my mistake, but I didn't see anywhere where it might say, "Works with Boye hooks only." I usually use Bates hooks, but have used the Boyes at times, so I have some. It was just surprising that I hadn't seen that written anywhere. But like I said, it could be that I missed it. :) Also, the little washer thing that you put on the hooks, I already broke the one for the H hook...... My mistake I was trying to use the Bates hook... I am still using the handle with the Boye hooks and I do enjoy the ergonomic fit in my hand. if you are thinking about purchasing it, buy it, just learn from my mistake.

Great idea and comfy but quality is questionable .
It seems to work well so far, bit i have had it only a few days and have used two or three times, and it's coming apart. It doesnt seem very durable, but it's very easy to use and does reduce cramping. I like that it is versatile and can use with hooks that I already have. I'm going to see how long it lasts. I'll try to remember to add an update on how it holds up.
