BOTTOM LINE: This thing enables me to hold my 25-pound child without straining my back and shoulders. I actually enjoy holding her for extended periods (instead of resenting her need to be carried) which has made travel and everyday life much less stressful. It is a bulky parenting accessory, not a fashion accessory. I don't care, because it works so stinking well.I bought this carrier because when we traveled with my daughter when she was a year old, she became extremely clingy and a momma's girl, not letting anyone (even Dad) hold her. She also didn't want to be in her comfy backpack carrier. So I was left to carry her in my arms. For two weeks.Now she's 2.5 and MUCH bigger, and we had another trip coming up. She was already wanting to be carried everywhere at home for some reason, and I knew I was in for a world of hurt if she needed me to carry her for another two weeks straight.I put this thing to the test Ina variety of situations, and it passed with flying colors:AIRPORT - she sat comfortably on my hip while we checked bags and power walked long distances to security and gates. SO easy to get her off and back on for security stuff.DISNEYLAND - I carried her all around the park with no problems. I ENJOYED carrying my 25-pound child because I wasn't in pain the whole time. I left the TushBaby on for every ride with zero issues. So easy to let her walk when she wanted and be carried when she wanted.SHORT HIKES - I even took this thing on some short hikes. Worked amazingly. Definitely wouldn't do that for much more than a couple miles because my gait wasn't ergonomic because of the lopsided weight, but it sure did the trick on shorter distances.BASICALLY I LOVE THIS THING. It looks incredibly stupid when I'm wearing it and no kid is currently sitting in the seat. But I am a 30-year-old mom with a back and shoulders that don't hurt at all after carrying a toddler around for two weeks. TushBaby could look 500% uglier and I'd still happily own one.

I love this thing. After walking around the grocery store with my 4 month old wanting to be held I went straight home and ordered this. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money but I'm glad I did. It's very sturdy and holds my baby well. It doesn't weigh too much so it's not too hard on the body to hold. The main pocket under the seat is big enough to hold like 4 or 5 diapers and a half pack of wipes, I couldn't get a whole pack to fit but honestly that's unnecessary. The pocket on the belt is big enough to hold my phone which is really nice and also surprising because my phone is on the bigger side. I felt comfortable carrying my baby around with this, it felt sturdy and safe. I got the blue one so it was good for my husband too and he also really likes it. The only thing that bummed me out was that I think I need the belt extender. I thought i measured correctly and I wouldn't need it and technically I can squeeze into it but I would be much more comfortable with the extender. For reference I'm 5'6" and about 190, usually a size 12 pants.

The tush baby is a practical item which allows you to carry the baby on your hip without destroying your back. The strap needs to be very tight which does slightly limit the movement of your hips. I wouldn't wear tush baby for extended periods of time because it slightly cuts into the groin but for about 15 minutes, which in baby world is a long time, it works beautifully. If you have had a hip replacement, you may want to try it and see if it works well for you. I have had bilateral hip replacements and it works well, but then becomes slightly tight. If you need it for short periods of time, then it works wonderfully. I wouldn't use it to walk around Disneyland.
