GCCSJ 16 Sqft Heating Mat, 180W 120V Electric Radiant Floor Heating System with WiFi Controlled Thermostatic Tloor Sensor and Cable Monitor, Easy to Install Under Tile, Wood and Marble

I installed this heating mat in my portable shower/storage shed. The storage shed has a very small portable camping tank less water heater with a portable toilet to use just in case the electricity goes out. I'm the type of person that always likes to be prepared so I have like 3 tank less shower set ups and bathrooms just in case.... None of them have heated floors so I figured I would give it a try in my shed that runs on solar power. I laid tile on top of this flooring and it gets a little warm, just enough to keep the chill off which is good because inside the shed gets quite cold. Only time will tell if it's a 5 star product as I have installed much larger heating systems for clients and as time goes by you start to get issues with sections of the heating element not working or it goes out altogether.

I installed this under the flooring in front of my shower. We were building this bathroom when we found this and decided to give it a try since my wife was worried the tile floor would be cold to step on. It installed under the tile just like it should. I did cut the mesh under the wire to bend it around to make it wider and not quite as long. It worked fairly well but I feel it would have been better if the wire had come on a roll and I could have placed it where it needed to be exactly. It works well though after installation.

The install directions are not easy to follow, poorly written instructions. No instruction at all about how to wire the thermostat.

So, lets start off with the good aspect of this heating mat! It's extremely easy to install and it works well and the wifi thermostat does what it should. Now for the bad, they specifically state that you cannot cut it which is strange because their marketing photos show them shaping the wires and making a nicely designed out area. Well, since you cannot cut the electrical you need to get very creative for certain areas as not all areas are exactly form fitting and thus make this product much more difficult to utilize. It's almost best to purchase the components yourself and to shape it into the area that you need vs. using a pre-defined format unless it specifically matches your area. This to me is such a large issue that I docked 2 stars from my review since it will indeed create issues for you if your space is not specific to the heating mats area and thus you end up needing to design it out to that space.Unfortunately, this means that I had to go a different route instead of being able to utilize this product which was a real disappointment because it is a quality product but it's just not as customizable as it needs to be.

I haven't installed radiant floor heating in 10 years or more, and I am amazed how far it has come. The process with this Mat is super easy. Everything is included, the WiFi control is a huge bonus. Just make sure the wood and/or other materials you are coming in contact with are OK with a sustained 140F. Most manufacturers achieve this but always double check. I cannot give a good functionality review right now because it is the peak of Summer. So far everything is a perfect 5 stars and I will certainly update if anything unexpected is encountered!

I will not be using. 2 contractors refused to install this heating mat because of the wiring. Scraped with a knife it stays silver (*likely aluminum and not copper), the other ran his finger over the end of the wire and it broke into small pieces, not just bent which he says is "not good".There are no electrical body certifications (EL,UL, CL) on anything in the kit and is in a plain white box. No warranty information. Type of wiring is not listed correctly, the abbreviations refer to the insulation around the wiring, not the wiring.I thought this was a good price, but the cost has come way down since I last had one of these installed in a house renovation 20 years ago. The name brand big box store kit version of this is not significantly more expensive than this, and states oxygen free copper wiring, is UL listed and comes with a 1 year warranty. The thought (fear) of having to redo a $3k floor to save $100 was not worth it, even if I installed it myself, which does not seem complicated by the basic instruction sheet. I'm not willing to see how long it lasts embedded in the floor or until it fails or catches fire for a "free" $100 item.The fact that 2 professionals were so strongly against using this heating mat leads me to believe that it is best NOT to use it, can't recommend. I will unfortunately have to throw this out since I can not return it.

This single strip was the absolute perfect size and shape to install a heated floor in a mini home build! It's summer, so I can't attest to the overall heating ability of the single element when it's up against the cold of winter, but I'm super pleased with how simple and easy it is to install, and at this price point, it was a VERY economical option to have such a high end feature. I'm very happy with this purchase, and I will be re-ordering this item in the future.
