Chicago Johnny'sHot Giardiniera in Olive Oil

Big fan of my giardiniera. Grew up outside the southwest suburbs but now live in rural Wyoming, so finding specialty items like this in the grocery store isn't really an option. I tried Chicago Johnny's because it was made with olive oil, a much welcomed change from the soy oils used in pretty much every other commercial giardiniera on the shelves. The flavor was spot on, had a nice crunch to it. Brought it to a buddy's house to add on Italian sausage sandwiches, and my buddy ate half the jar on me... Which is actually why I dock it 1 star. The giardiniera is fantastic, but at $15 a jar, it doesn't go very far, especially if you like to load up a sandwich like I (and apparently my friend) does. Would I buy again? Absolutely, in fact already did. Fun fact, order direct through Chicago Johnny's website, they're about $5 less a jar there. You'll pay shipping but if you buy a multi-pack you'll still save $ and be able to share with friends without worrying about hoarding your supply.

If you're from Chicago and miss good giardiniera, this is it. Plus, it's the only one I could find packed in olive oil instead of canola oil. I've gone through more than any reasonable person should, and switched over to the gallon size.

My entire family is from Chicago and I grew up putting Giardiniera on EVERYTHING! I am always looking for the best and I am sure I have found it.Oil based, check. Flavor, check. Crunch, check. Solid packaging, check. Nice, hand-written, note thanking me, check and check. I just got it an hour ago and I am a quarter of the way through the jar! I will be ordering a refresh soon and already spread the word far and wide to my family, friends, and Giardinieta fans!Johnny, you got a fan for life!

i’m such a fan of this product. I’ve purchased it many times have given it away to others who I knew would enjoy it. Now I have my brother buying it on Amazon because he loves it so much. I like the fact that the mix is an olive oil which was the main reason why I purchased this product to begin with. I love hot peppers and hot sauces and this is not so hot that you can’t enjoy it but it has a good kick. I’m on my fourth bottle now, and I will use this exclusively. I have tried others, but I wasn’t crazy about the oil that was used, and when I found this I was sold.

It was very tasty, I'm from Chicago so it brought back memories but don't know if I'll purchase it again very expensive.
