Not using them with reptiles but to help hatch krill. Easy to use.

Works well. was cautious when buying as people have said can be a firehazard. So i monitored for 2-3 days constantly on. It did not overheat or cause any issues - I still am aware of it.Got it for my tortoises who needed it as they are in the conservatory and it got freezing during this winter. Even though placed it underneath the wooden tortoise table, which is about 0.5 to 0.7 inch wood, it still gradually heats up the ground part of the enclosure to a safe level.I won't recommend using it all the time even in summer for tortoises as that is more unnatural for most species to have the ground warm esp during night.

To my surprise, I spotted this as a recommendation in a YouTube video about the cost of living and the energy crisis a while back. I expected more "flower pot" heaters; they stop the candles' heat from going up to the ceiling right away but they certainly don't make the candles give off more heat than they normally do. I use this mat at my desk. I can put it on my lap and I even find myself using it as a mousepad so that it helps keep my hand and wrist warm. It only uses 7 Watt.I may occasionally use it to help keep animals warm too. :)It does not have a control and on/of switch. (Some models come with such a switch in the cable.) As I am also trying to buy fewer materials that need to be produced and then shipped around the world, thus contributing to global warming but also increasing fuel demand, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I do find myself leaving it plugged in and on when I am not actively using it as a result. I can live with that as I spend a lot of my time at my desk.

It's been about 8 months and working well with a temperature regulator.

Purchased this to provide a small hot spot for baby mourning geckos in the evening. I've attached it to the outside of the bottom left of the tank ..I've made sure it's still got a little air flow beetween the glass and the matt ..It's ideal for this grow out tank .,Just be aware , it does not have temp controle and if your going to use this under glass or inside , I'd suggest making sure it's covered .I've used this three full nights so far and it seems fine , the geckos seem to appreciate the small hear spot it provides.Also worth purchasing as a handy extra, in case lamps / bulbs fail or blow ..And i will re review / update and see how it lasts .

Does what it says on the tin. Not sure I would use it for reptiles but it does a good job preventing my harvester ants from freezing.Always use an appropriate thermostat.
