A good addition to a meal or make totally different dish

Never knew low sodium Stovetop Stuffing existed! Since I have high bp I’ve been careful to watch my sodium intake. I never saw this item in any supermarket but I heard it mentioned on a podcast! Happy to see Amazon carries it…now I can continue to make my meatballs with it and not worry about all the salt!

What can I say? If you try to buy these at the grocery store you can see the price difference

I mix one box of this lower sodium stuffing in a large plastic container with one box of the original as the lower sodium product doesn’t have as much flavor. Before using I turn the container up-side-down and shake slightly so the seasonings aren’t all on the bottom. I then scoop out only the amount needed for one or two servings since making a whole box will just go bad before it can be used up. So convenient and I can always add mushrooms, dried cranberries, a bit more sage or thyme, etc. to change it up depending on what I’m going to have with the stuffing.

I eat this stuffing mix in a variety of recipes as well as by itself as a side dish. One of my favorite recipes is making meatloaf burger patties. I combine a box of stuffing, a pound of ground beef, 2 eggs and a handful of my favorite seasonings then mix.I typically end up with (4) 6.5-7oz meatloaf patties that I then eat as burgers, with scrambled eggs for breakfast, with mashed potatoes and gravy or a dozen other combinations. Think outside the box.. Literally. There are thousands of recipes (including the one on the box itself) that taste fantastic and are easy to make.If you are wondering how to just make the stuffing mix out of the box, it's incredibly simple.In a small pot, bring 1-1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1/2 stick of butter to the water right away before you start heating it up. (IF You don't have a stick of butter, it's ok. It works just fine without the butter too.)Once the water and butter are boiling, shut the heat off, and stir in the stuffing mix. Mix it well, you little demon, you. Stir it making sure everything... every. single. little. piece... gets wet. At that point, it's only been off the heat for about 30-45 seconds while you stirred. Place a lid on the pan and let it sit for about 4-5 min while you do, literally, anything else.Go set the table, call the kids inside, go for a quick run, take a shower, or watch a commercial - whatever you need to do. The water and butter will have a few minutes to completely soak through every little piece of breaded goodness in that pan and you'll come back here to Amazon and thank me profusely before you go into a food coma.

Stove Top Low Sodium Chicken Stuffing Mix - In Short - I really love this stuff! After a diagnosis of CHF I put myself on a strict no sodium diet. So, along with medications, the no sodium diet helped me to recover at least enough of my health to go on living a meaningful, thankful life. With that said, eventually I have been able to transition to what I call, a 'no added salt' diet. This Stove Top Stuffing is a great addition. So, It tastes great to me, which makes it a great value for the money. It's a great option for those of us on lower sodium diets.

I bought this package of Stove Top because it was low sodium. It only takes about 10 minutes to cook it up. By mixing in extra ingredients such as onion, pecans, and dried cranberries one produces a stuffing almost as good as homemade.
