Duskmourn - A Perfect Horror Throwback
Duskmourn: House of Horror absolutely nails the vibe — it’s like Silent Hill and Stranger Things had a baby and raised it on black mana. From the moment I cracked open my prerelease kit, I was hit with that eerie, nostalgic energy. The art direction is hauntingly gorgeous, filled with twisted hallways, faceless horrors, and that subtle '90s VHS grain that screams classic horror.Mechanically, it’s fresh without being gimmicky. The room mechanic makes for tense, claustrophobic gameplay that actually feels like you're exploring a haunted mansion. The synergy between colors, especially black and blue (or hell even that sweet classic white/blue combo), is chef’s kiss for control players. There's plenty of build-around potential even in sealed, and the power level is tuned just right — fun without being overblown.Pulling a Mythic like Eldritch Tethergeist (my MVP) in the middle of what I thought might be a bum-draft sealed the experience for me.Whether you’re here for the art, the mechanics, or the raw spooky vibes, Duskmourn delivers. One of the most thematically cohesive and flavorful sets Wizards has printed in years. If this is where Magic is heading, I’m all in.

Really happy with the Duskmourn set. All of the horror movie themed cards and mechanics are rad, and this set features some of the best art in MTG.
