Upgrade to Paper Pro is Worth the Investment
I recently upgraded from the Remarkable 2 to the Remarkable Paper Pro, and I’m thrilled with the experience. Since both devices use the same Connect Software, the transition was seamless with virtually no learning curve. If you’re familiar with the Remarkable ecosystem, you’ll feel right at home. One of my favorite features is the folder-based organization system, which is intuitive and mirrors how Windows users manage files. It makes organizing notes a breeze, keeping everything tidy and accessible. The addition of color was a major reason for my upgrade, and while the colors are muted—likely due to the low-power e-ink technology and the writing-focused display—they’re still a significant improvement over the monochrome Remarkable 2. The hues aren’t as vibrant as you’d see on a tablet, but they’re serviceable and add a nice touch to notes and sketches. The “writing on paper” experience remains a standout. It feels incredibly natural, mimicking the tactile sensation of pen on paper, which enhances the overall note-taking and creative process. The Paper Pro also introduces backlighting, a feature I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much. The adjustable lighting, including a more intense option, is great for different environments, though it does consume more battery. For me, the trade-off is worth it.The larger screen size is another pleasant surprise. It provides more space for writing and sketching, making the device feel more versatile than its predecessor. The focus on creativity and productivity is a core strength of the Remarkable line—no email, messaging, or distracting apps here. I’m perfectly fine with this, as I have my phone for those things. This device is all about staying in the zone. That said, the $579 price tag is steep, comparable to some laptops or tablets. However, for those who value a distraction-free, paper-like writing experience with thoughtful upgrades like color, backlighting, and a larger screen, the Remarkable Paper Pro is a fantastic investment. It’s not perfect, but it’s a meaningful step up from the Remarkable 2 and a unique tool for creatives and note-takers alike.**Pros**: Natural writing feel, intuitive folder organization, color display, backlighting, larger screen, distraction-free design.**Cons**: Muted colors, high price, backlighting impacts battery life.Highly recommended for anyone seeking a premium, focused writing experience!

Is it worth the cost?
So, the real question is "Is it worth the high price" ($650)? I would have to say, yes. Yes, it is. The last few weeks I've been on sort of a buying frenzy of various tablet e-readers not unlike the kind that this review is about. In doing so, I've found that there are some very specific features that I'm looking for. This tablet e-reader does everything I hoped and needed. The charm is within the unit itself. While other e-reader tablets find their prowess in being able to mimic a cell phone, in the sense that it will do (almost) everything a smart phone can do. That's not the case in this unit. In fact, I very much appreciate how simplistic it really is. It does everything is claims to be capable of, but not much else which I find to be easy to use. For people like me, and those who are distracted easily by the bells and whistles of other e-reader tablets, this unit proves to be a powerful in it's claims. I still have a few more tablets to try out, but unfortunately I am so impressed by this unit, the bench mark has been set. The real question, is it worth the cost? I think that this unit does what it claims to do, and does it well, but $650 is rather high. Sure, without a doubt this e-reader tablet is far superior to other e-reader tablets that are out there, but that is somewhat subjective. Meaning, if this does fit your needs, then yes it's worth the cost, but if you need more out of your e-reader tablet, than this may not be the right one for you. If you can afford this unit, then I say go for it. The downside to this unit (besides the cost) is that in order to be fully functional, you have to be prepared to pay for a service that allows you to save items and work seamlessly between your unit and computer and all the splendors that it touts. I've been spoiled by this unit, which makes all the others feel (and look) far less superior. So, the answer to whether or not this unit is worth the cost, well, that's up to you to decide. I say, for the most part, a resounding YES! Hope this review (albeit lengthy) was helpful for you.

Game-Changer for Note-Taking and Focus
The reMarkable Pro has completely transformed how I take notes and stay organized. The writing experience feels incredibly natural—just like pen on paper—and it’s so satisfying to use. What I love most is how distraction-free it is. No notifications, no apps pulling me away, just pure focus.Syncing with the cloud works seamlessly, and the ability to convert handwriting to text is surprisingly accurate. It’s sleek, lightweight, and the battery lasts for days. Perfect for meetings, journaling, or planning without the clutter of traditional notebooks. Absolutely worth the investment. Highly recommend!
