I am having fun with this little guy
I am having fun with this little guy! Small, compact, easy to use, and easy to clean, enough said! It just wipes clean, it couldn't be any easier than that!! I got this after I saw it was recommended on an ATK (America's Test Kitchen) gear heads video. I trust them for recommendations on products, and I feel this one didn't fail to live up to their recommendation. I got this mainly with the purpose in mind to use it in our camper, it's an electric plug in device, so I won't have to fire up the cook top stove and use up our propane, and the fact that it's just a wipe clean for clean up, means one less dish or pot to clean, and so I also won't be using up our water either. It can cook up some eggs rather quickly and nicely!! So it is a win win for me!! Also with it being 8 inches wide it can fit a nice size slice of bread and can be used like a panini press but won't have the grid marks/lines, so it's a multipurpose appliance too. There is NO off/on switch, just plug it in and it's ON, and plug it out to turn it OFF. There is a blue indicator light on the outside top/lid.I have only had it about a month, and have had no issues with it yet, Basically so far I have only experimented making eggs and panini sandwiches with it but want to try out a few other things with it too, like sauteing some onions on it or even cooking a burger on it! I think the convenience of it, easy clean up and small footprint of it, would lend itself well for apartment living or cooking for one or two persons.

Didn’t know I would need this in my life…
Originally we were gifted a tiny Dash griddle and enjoyed using it for eggs and little pancakes. Then my kids got bigger and making one little pancake or egg at a time wasn’t worth the effort. After finding and using this bigger version of the Dash, I can tell you we genuinely have a hard time living without one. I know this because I am on my third at this point, because I am a klutz and have dropped and broken the others. Thank goodness for quick Amazon shipping! Our family, including 3 preteen-teenage boys use this almost daily. It heats up so fast and is so versatile with both the top and bottom cooking surfaces. We use it to make a variety of breakfast items, including huge pancakes now that the kids are older, omelettes and burritos. For lunches we use it for quesadillas, wraps, and to reheat things quickly. It is so convenient on busy mornings and during short lunch breaks. My kids have been able to use it independently and safely starting around age 10. Not to say that’ll be the case for everyone, because it definitely does get hot and you have to learn to open and shut the lid carefully. My only wish, is that it had an on/off switch, with automatic shutoff. Also, maybe some of the plastic pieces could be made more sturdy, or maybe I just shouldn’t drop it on the floor. Either way, I love this thing and if you need a way to make things quickly and easily, this might be the little kitchen appliance you never knew you needed too.

Good option over a stovetop and frying pan
I find this simple and effective for omelettes. However, the instructions say to use food spray top and bottom, and I don't know if that's always necessary. I get a lot of food spray drippings and leftover after I've - very quickly - executed an omelette.A bit smoky in execution of an omelette but not enough to set off any fire alarms. It's a griddle and behaving like one. Very easy to wipe clean. The size is perfect for a single serving omelette. Cute color, too. And lightweight. For people who don't count themselves gourmet and have limited space, it's a great idea.

It does work as advertised
This product does, in fact, work as advertised but be sure you are buying for the right reason. It will cook your food, as promised, but it won't necessarily do it an better than a small frying pan with a lid set on low heat on the stove. I cooked a small piece of raw meat and some left over spaghetti on the side next to the meat. The meat was thin and was frozen when I put it in. I topped the whole thing - meat and side of spaghetti - with chopped onions and some soy sauce after first adding a liberal amount of veg oil to the pan before adding the food. I closed the lid. About 7-8 minutes, I opened the lid and everything was cooked very nicely. It was browned on the bottom, not the top. The meal was delicious and the food was nicely seasoned. Everything was fine...............BUT I could have done the very same thing with a small frying pan and lid on the stove set to low heat. I could have also done the same thing on an electric frying pan set to low heat making sure to put a cover on the pan, in either case.Where it would be more useful than frying pan is in places where there is no stove but there is electricity such as a dorm room, a camper or RV, a hotel room, etc. This device would be more convenient than an electric hot plate in combo with a small frying pan and a lid. It would be more compact esp for traveling, less so for a dorm room with a permanent place for the hotplate. One other consideration is that it takes about 7-8 minutes to cook the meat and a side dish in portions which would be enough for one person - and not one person with a big appetite, either. For example it would not hold enough food for a teenager or a young adult male. Another consideration is that if a couple of any age wanted to take this devise along when camping or staying in a hotel room, they would probably need two of them. It takes 7-8 minutes to prepare meat and a side dish for one person. This food would get cold while waiting for the second round to cook food for the other person. If two people want to sit down to eat a meal at the same time, then they would need two of these items to take along.Bottom line is that it is way too small to use if one is going to cook food for two people. It is ideal for one person and the food is very delicious when it is done cooking. It is also not going to be able to cook enough food for one person if that person is either a teenager or else a young adult male. It can't handle anything but small portions, at once time ,so please consider who is going to be eating the food. If you are going to be using it for two people or even one person with a hardy appetite, an electric frying pan with a glass cover would be a better option.

Easy to use.
Love it. My daughter has autism level 1 and I don't trust her too much around a stove cooking stuff, so this dash is great. She makes her quesadillas with ease.
