This is a great set of bamboo embroidery hoops. They are smooth and hold the fabric tight. I have only one problem. I would like to have more than one of the smallest size hoop, but there's no way to buy an extra one or two. When working on more than one project at a time, or if I want to give a nice hoop to a friend who's beginning to embroider, I don't want to have to buy another set. Also, one thing to get used to is tightening the hoop. This style of hoop requires you to use both hands holding the screw mechanism. If you don't hold the nut at the left side of the screw, twisting on the right side doesn't make the hoop get tighter. This is a minor thing, just something to get used to. The result is a wonderfully tight hoop on which to embroider.

These rings are very sturdy. They are a nice color and very easy to use. Very easy to screw tightly. The wood was splintering a little on one of the inside hoops.

Loved all the different sizes. Perfect for a beginner.

Now I've only recently started with embroidery, so I wanted to make sure I got multiple sizes without spending too much and I was pleasantly surprised and the quality of what I received . Hoops of that quality at my local craft stores would cost at least $3-6 each for those different sizes but I bought this set for barely $10. Great bargain for anyone whether experienced or beginner like me.

My wife is the crafty one so I will have to pass along her review of these: These are the first bamboo hoops I've tried. They feel great. They are smooth & lightweight. I've always used traditional wooden hoops & these are much better. I like the rounded edges & the fabric fits tight.I don't know much about embroidery or stitching myself, but I scored myself some bonus points when I bought these. My wife seems to really like them compared to the ones she normally uses. She hasn't asked me to replace any screws, sand down a rough spot, or adjust these at all so I'd say they are far superior to the other ones she has been using.

It does what it needs to do. I really like working with bamboo versus plastic, so that's a big seller for me. They come in five different sizes. I haven't noticed too many problems (or really any) with fastening them. You may find the knob a bit hard to turn or rough on the fingers when tigthening. I go as far as I can and then use a pair of pliers to tighten them the rest of the way. That works for me. I imagine these lasting me awhile, but if I had to purchase them again, I probably would!

Upon inspection of my hoops, I noticed 2 cracks on 2 different hoops. And wouldn't you know, it was on the 2 I bought these hoops for. I intend on using them anyway, but if they break, they're going back & I'll pay the extra for the plastic hoops. I'll post an edit if they fail.
