flavorful
I've now used the rose extract in several recipes and the results were excellent! Enough so that I just bought more. My only caveat is not towards Bakto (the company whose product I bought), but towards Amazon: it was really difficult and random actually finding "rose extract"on the Amazon website--as opposed to rose-flavored or -scented anything else! I tried many combos of key words before rose extract showed up. And then, I only saw the Bakto rose extract combined with three other flavors I didn't need or want but ended up buying in order to get the rose. Another time a week or so later, I found a single larger bottle of rose extract by Bakto and a set of three small bottles of rose extract (also by Bakto) that never came up in my original search. Don't understand it! I spent a huge amount of time searching the first time! But it did the job (used them for rose-raspberry sablé cookies).

Wonderful Flavor for homemade Ice Cream!
OMG!! Have you ever had rose ice cream?? 2 tbsp per 3 cups of cream mixture. Tastes just like the rose ice cream I first tasted at Silver Linings shop in Fargo!! But now, I must diet.

Very nice Rose flavor
Most of the Rose products have different flavors... Probably because roses have different sents. I really like this flavor. I mix it with my tea and my coffee.

Smells Nothing Like Rose
I ordered this along with 5 other Bakto extracts. The others were okay (not great), but the rose was - well, I don't know what it was, but it definitely wasn't rose. It smelled funny in a bad way. It wasn't a floral scent at all. Honestly, I didn't use it because I didn't want to end up wasting more expensive ingredients test-driving the product. The lime extract smelled like lime and tasted like lime (barely), and the orange smelled orangy and tasted like orange (somewhat), and since this extract smelled unpleasant, I extrapolated that the resulting icing would taste unpleasant as well. I did some reading on rose oils and rose extract, and rose oil is recommended for flavoring, and rose oil, the truly good stuff, will be expensive. (All this was for my annual Christmas cookie making fiesta, so I'll pop for and try to rose oil this coming holiday season.)

It tastes artificial
I wanted this to work so badly but it had very little rose flavor when used sparingly. When I added enough to get a rose flavor it leaves an artificial, almost soapy taste. I think I will stick to rose water for now.

Delightful
Bakto's rose extract smells wonderful. Slight alcohol odor, but it tends to dissipate when mixed into food or drink. I put some of this in a bottle of white grape juice I'm using with a Spike Your Juice kit and I can hardly wait to see what that particular use ends up like! Smells great.

I have purchased these many times and love it. I use it mostly to make rose soda and rose cream soda. Delicious, and popular with the neighbor kids, as well.
