I get it now. Recommend you get this too!
We have a guy who comes out to check on our HVAC twice a year - May for AC, September for furnace. For the last two years he has told me I needed to clean my evaporator coil fins. I knew enough not to use a pressure washer but was still doing it wrong. This year he said it was bad enough I needed coil cleaner. He said I could buy foam in a can but added "Ours comes in a gallon jug that we put into a sprayer." He was trying to point me to the right stuff while not endangering his job. His company would have charged me $600 to clean my unit. I searched for the can foam and this came up too along with the Chapin G390 Hose End Sprayer. Bingo!Application is super easy. Put the cleaner in the sprayer bottle, attach to your hose. The first pass was both amazing and disgusting. Globs of dirt coming off my coil fins. I ended up doing the worst side 3 times and the second worst twice. I used 1/4 of the gallon to do that. You will notice a change in how much foam is produced that indicates when you have run out of cleaner and are just spraying water. If there was a smell, I dont remember it so it must not have been strong. The value is through the roof. $30 for the foam and $7 for the sprayer. I should get 4 cleanings out of that. Call it $6 a cleaning vs $600.

Excellent and cost effective
The coil cleaner works very well. The key is just read instruction on the bottle and to use it in a pump sprayer. I think people who are complaining that it's not for foaming did not do thatI've used it 3 years in a row in a does very good job. Per instructions, I delete 16oz of the concentrate to make 1/2 gal of solution - and that is enough for cleaning my medium sized Carrier A/C. So it is very cost effective and good value. In general, i like the brand and use their other specialized cleaners ( for example bicycle chain cleaner).

This stuff is great!
Bought this to clean our AC unit out as it had a lot of leaves and dirt from the fall and winter. This stuff worked great! Cleaned it right up.

Works well at a reasonable price
I mixed this up in a one gallon sprayer at (or just above) the recommended concentration. While this didn't foam a lot on the outside of the coil, there was definitely some foaming going on by the time it reached the inside. Rinsing the solution off the condenser coils resulted in a lot of debris being removed, but there were a number of spots that still looked dirty, so I mixed up and applied a second round. While there's still a bit of discoloration in spots, I'm happy with the results, particularly since I haven't cleaned the outside unit since it was installed six years ago.

Worked on AC UNIT
Worked fairly well. Didn’t foam for me.

Foaming? Not so much....
Very little foam, nothing like the product the HVAC guys recently at my house used. I mixed as directed (3:1) in my pump sprayer, and unless you held the nozzle almost directly on the evaporation blades--very inefficient and time consuming--you got very little foam. Despite that, I could see a difference after I rinsed it off, so, I'd give it about a 3.5.

Trusted brand for cleaning
Simple Green is a brand that I trusted for cleaning and I don't this was any different. A friend is a HVAC contractor and said that while it wasn't quite as good as the commercial stuff he gets, it works very well

Does not foam as specified in description
I purchased this coil cleaner because it was more economical than other cleaners. I mixed this coil cleaner as specified on the bottle, which was 1 qt cleaner & 3 qt water. This product did not foam at all when sprayed from pressure sprayer onto the coils of my outdoor units. I used this on 3 different outdoor unit coils, and no foam was produced. Not sure how good it actually cleaned. Previous cleaners I have used did foam and I could see the foam pushing dirt out of the coils. This cleaner did not foam. Going forward, I will probably stick to other brand cleaners that have worked well in the past.
