I use this device connected via Bluetooth to provide amient background audio for our Halloween haunted house and graveyard! The portability and battery-powered capability of this loudspeaker system provide flexibility to place the unit in a preferred outdoor location, perfect for hiding it in the graveyard and playing scary music. The quality of the sound is fabulous at this price point, making the unit a great value. Make sure to power-off the unit when charging overnight so overheating is avoided. There is a separate dedicated "on" switch" for battery charging. Note: I could not find the "0.5" model.

I was quite pleased with the sound at first. But after just a few months, the PA speaker became defective. The speaker would stop outputting sound (nothing from the mics) a few minutes after turning on the unit, and the a loud constant clicking noise starts to be emitted instead.On a side note, the bluetooth module of the unit I purchased never worked - no power. It's just that I didn't intend to use the bluetooth module so I chose to live with that.I contacted Pyle for warranty repair service and they asked me to ship back the entire unit (a 50lb heavy item, even though they did provide a label, but it was still a big hassle to package and ship it). I did so.A few days later, they sent back the "repaired" unit - the warranty info sheet says they replaced power board). But unfortunately the exact same issue developed soon after I started using the speaker again. So it was not repaired successfully. (the bluetooth also did not get repaired, even though I mentioned it during the warranty claim).At this point I'm really fed up by the system and asked Amazon for a possible return out of the standard return window.Thankfully Amazon did agree to take it back, minus a 20% restocking fee, which I accepted since it did work for a few months at least.

I have regularly felt it would be good to have a solid PA unit, and an upcoming meeting that now needs to be held outdoors due to COVID finally motivated me to purchase one. After quite a bit of looking, coupled with long acquaintance with the Pyle brand, the PHP1599WU (plus a matching stand) looked like my best fit. Shipping was delayed a couple days for some reason, but it arrived yesterday and I unboxed and tested it tonight. Everything worked out of the box, though it did take some exploring to figure out the built-in FM radio. One plus that I missed when looking at the catalog is that this unit includes an extensible handle and wheels, just like modern luggage. Hard to argue with that. The controls and remote work as expected and the sound is quite good from each of the sources. I am looking forward to using it in my upcoming meeting -- lets hope for nice weather....

I am generally happy with the speaker. Sound volume and quality is good overall and meets my expectations. I also bought the tripod stand to put it on, so the sound will travel further and the speaker will be off the ground for more protection. The only thing that bummed me out was that I was planning on using the USB drive to play my songs and playlists on it, but there is no function on the speaker buttons and screen that gives you control of or to navigate the songs and playlists, so the speaker just plays songs at random. I've figured out a work around though.

This thing is powerful and an awesome system. Fair warning though you will need to have some technical skills to understand how to control the sound. Flip side to that is that you have a lot of control of the sounds. I have zero issues with this system for what I paid for it. Powerful, not terribly heavy, and comes with two decent microphones that can be used at the same time and over the music being streamed over Bluetooth. I wish I had this when I was younger in a band. That is a killer deal!

Edit: I found a replacement battery that fixes the issues with this speaker. It fits the original location, is lithium so you get 50% more battery life and is lighter, and has a battery management system that will prevent overcharging. The charge gauge is totally useless - it reads 100% until its very nearly dead. So it’s impossible to know how long to plug it in to charge it unless you get it completely dead and set a timer.I’ve ruined two batteries now (caused them to overheat and swell) because of this design defect. I can’t remember the last rechargeable device I bought without a smart charging circuit.

The media could not be loaded. We have used this system for our Women’s Luncheon for years. In fact, we love it so much that we purchased a second one for our other office to use. Works very well for our situation and would work for anyone.
