Love that it folds flat
I love this! i included pictures of each step of the process, it was so easy to put together. it does fold flat and fit under my bed but you have to unscrew two back supports (the ones i put together in the 6th picture) and flip up the top ones to make it fold flat. if thats confusing you'll know what i mean if you put it together.it does everything it advertises and feels pretty sturdy.now i have no excuse not to practice painting :)

Quality and foldable
The quality of the product, the look for me elegant and the way it folds. The reason I purchased this is because it lays flat and would help me greatly when trying to paint from a different angle. As for the height, I thought it would go much higher but the ability to fold it makes up for it. The assembly was ok, I wish some of the instructions were more clear and this requires a second set of hands just to hold but I was able to assemble by myself. Overall I am very pleased with my easel. Can’t wait to use it!

Sturdy and Functional
I like the easel overall. The knob adjustments are a bit tricky to gt just right. I had a few issues with the assembly-the directions are only pictures and not totally accurate. Some pointers:Step 1: Be certain that part 7 is facing the correct direction so that on the top side, the holes for the hinges in Step 2 are aligned with one hole facing the interior and the other two on the outside edge.Step 2: I had some trouble with the holes not being exactly aligned with the hinges on the 9’s. I had to adjust the pilot holes to make it work. A ratcheting screwdriver is helpful. IMPORTANT: THE HINGES NEED TO FOLD FLAT (180 DEGREES) FOR THE WHOLE EASEL TO FOLD FLAT FOR STORAGE.Step 3: The black knobs come in three sizes. The D knobs are correct here. For each D knob, there is a strike plate that gets put in on the opposite side of the beam. The strike plates are NOT in the pictures.Step 7: Again, to put the strike plates on the inside of the “3” parts, I had to tilt the mast the opposite direction as the one in the picture past vertical so that the strike plates wouldn’t fall out. Before attaching the 3’s, I screwed the knobs in most of the way to make it easier to install them.

Kind of a headache, but looks nice
The media could not be loaded. I've had this for over a year now (bought Nov 2023) and it has always had this problem. Couldn't take it anymore so I figured I'd finally write a review. The design is poorly thought out. The bottom "shelf" meant to hold your canvas only has one tightening knob, when one on each side would have been sturdier and provided more stability. There are small golden metal pieces meant to provide a surface between the easel frame and the moving shelf so it doesn't scratch the wood. That piece is a disaster that jams as you slide the piece up and down the easel. As you slide the shelf up and down the frame, a small gap tends to form between the wooden pieces. That makes the gold metal slide out of position and jam. Now you can't tighten the shelf or slide it unless you un-wedge the metal piece. I've even tried removing that metal altogether, which leaves little divots in the wood from tightening the knob. That wouldn't be a problem for me, except gaps still form between the frame and the shelf and the shelf can get off track on the sides. This may sound confusing without video, so I've recorded it the best I could.

Versatile, lightweight
I'd been suffering through functional issues with an easel that I purchased 20+ years ago which could not manage my avid return to painting as stress-relief from COVID lockdown. Painting every day after a 15 year hiatus from it, the easel began to refuse to lock canvas holding brackets into place.I was reluctant to purchase something sight unseen/untouched, but local shopping proved fruitless. I needed something that was versatile, lightweight, functional, and affordable. I also HATE having to return anything I do not like. After months of reviewing and debate, I decided to purchase this one. My painting studio is in our basement, but it has a lower ceiling height than standard (7.5'), so I was also worried about working height for this easel.I could not be more happy.I read reviews on this easel expressing frustration with the lack of clear instructions, which offer ONLY diagram assembly (graphic illustrations, nothing written), but between me and my spouse, I figured we could do it.When we opened up the box, we noticed that bolts, knobs and other small pieces were packaged in plastic and labeled with a letter matched to the diagram. So...we laid out the parts and got to work. We made a couple of mistakes early due to confusion about how pieces fit together through our interpretation of the diagram; however, this was quickly corrected. Within 20 minutes, we had it put together. While it's heavier than my old one, I could easily lift it, but I purchased this one for its wheels which make it simple to maneuver. This easel takes up less space than my old one which has a deeper footprint due to its design (triangular base). This new one is highly functional, easy to adjust, allows multiple angles (including flat), and the wood is lovely. It is sturdy and well-crafted. My only complaint is that I had to get used to dealing with the way the slider piece works with the brackets which hold the canvas. Since my old one is not this sophisticated (it was a cheap one...what I could afford at the time), I quickly realized that I simply needed to learn how this one works. And all is well.I highly recommend this easel. It is consistent with what I see educational in painting studios. The price is excellent considering how well-made and functional it is. Makes me feel like a legit painter. ;)
