Don't Bother With These
We wanted to use the stakes to put the lights in the ground to illuminate the walkway to our front door. The plastic is so cheap that the stake broke when putting it into the ground so that the plastic tube that should attach to it to connect the lights couldn't connect. We tried putting the tube into the ground without the stake. It wouldn't stay straight. We decided to lean it against the rock that was right there and kept going. Attaching the part with the lights required connecting the part with the ball that rotates. Doing that step resulted in cracking the plastic housing. Although cracked, it held. We let it sit in the bright California sun for 2 days to charge it up. On the night of the second day, I walked by the sensor to see if the lights would come on. Of course, they didn't. I checked to make sure we had the sensor switch in the "on" position and tried again. No luck. This was just an exercise in frustration. I don't even want to mess with the one in the second box. These are just junk.

too sensitive to random motion of vegetation
Although the device is easy to setup and it works, it is easily triggered by motion of vegetation. With the relatively constant wind in my location, it makes the device rather usable. I am still experimenting with different locations, and different background to see whether it may be suitable for only detecting undesirable intruders. At present, it doesn't seem suitable for that, unless the typical background for one's application is inert.It does seem that the device does better than I expected in terms of acquiring enough charge during the day even under clouds or with a tree canopy, so as to still respond to stimuli.

Keeps on going
Bought these lights five years ago and have outside my house all the time and they are greatApart from issue with the piece that went into the ground that was easily fixed with some glue I cannot fault these lights

Really easy to set up and so effective!
I saw this product on TV and ordered it from Amazon. My back door has a light over the porch, but I don't want to leave it on all day. I needed something that would come on when I got home and light up the steps. There are motion lights around the corners of the house, but none on the steps like I wanted for safety. I thought this would be perfect. I was surprised the box was so small, but it unfolded into something larger. I put the stake in the ground and left it off for a day to charge. The next afternoon, I turned it on and waited until dark. I walked outside and started down the steps and they lit up. Even better when I came home after dark the next night, it lit up when I pulled into the driveway and lit my way into the house. For under $30, this was a great buy!
