For Reef Tank Hydrometer
I needed a glass cylinder that was tall and easy to see through to for my hydrometer. Graduated cylinders were not tall enough or made of plastic so it would have been hard to see through to read the measurement. It came shipped well protected. Glass is thicker than I expected for a cheap vase and very clear. The bottom of this vase is also very flat and sturdy enough to hold water without teetering back and forth even though it is not very wide. Add the weight of flowers and I can see this being a great vase for a side table. Most people in the alcohol fermenting business are probably going to want something with a handle, but this is perfect for my reef hobby hydrometer which I only need to use for calibration once maybe twice a month.**Side note for people curious: the glass hydrometers float in the water and the buoyancy gives you the salinity of the water. This means you need something relatively tall so the hydrometer can float without hitting bottom and easy to see through to read your measurement. Alcohol is the same way just it measures the alcohol in the solution.
