The Cool Mist Vapor is the feature that sells me on this product. My hair is severely damaged, breaking, dry....it's really, really awful right now. To make things worse, it's wavy/curly. Think of the worst hair you've seen on a commercial and multiply it by 100. Ughhhh!I've been using the cool vapor set to "on" with a heat setting of 300-340. While I can't say this works for me with a single pass due to the condition of my hair, it GREATLY improves the look and feel of my hair after using it, more so than any of my other flat irons. My hair feels cool to the touch after running it through the plates, and it comes out SOFT! and shiny without making my hair go flat. I generally curl my hair under and prefer a fuller look rather than a straight, edgy bob, and I'm able to achieve this look with this flat iron. It is also helping with static (which seems to be a huge new problem with my hair's current condition) and this flat iron seems to keep it static free for fairly long periods of time.My only cons are that I have to be very careful, otherwise my hair snags at the outer ends of the plates easily (I don't need more damage!) and I have to keep checking to be sure the vapor hole is at the bottom, which gets awkward at times. The benefits definitely outweigh the cons at this point, and I'm pretty happy I decided to give this Remington product a try!

I have very thin hair with some wave and frizz due to heat damage. This works great, eliminates frizz very well. I was using a very nice $300 Chi that I've had for 7 years but the temperature control was not working and plus I had to go over most sections of my hair more than once(this causing said heat damage.) But with this extremely less priced flat iron I just go over one time it's done and frizz free. I highly recommend.

I currently own several flat irons but the one that compares to this the most is the L’Oreal Professionnel Steampod flat iron, though this is also $250 for reference.That one comes with a comb - that I removed from day one and have never used as it pops off anyways and snags. Beyond that and the fact that it has wider plates there is not a whole lot of difference except this is a significant cost savingIt heats up quickly and goes up to 450 should you chose that setting - I prefer it a little cooler as it gets the job done and causes less damage. It has 5 digital steam settings which is great for preciseness.It is the steam that is the game changer though!! It helps straighten and moisturize the hair with far less damage. You just pop out the little vial and add water - ideally distilled or bottled to protect the life of the iron and in 15 seconds it is ready to go.The nice thing about this one, is the 1 inch plates make it easier for curls or straightening! I think its a great value and a very nice flat iron that compares well to its far more pricey competitors !

The lowest settings given in questions are incorrect. I bought this straightener. The temperature settings are 300, 340, 375, and 410. It was important for me to know because I have very fine hair and can’t use the higher settings. It works very well on 300.

I used many irons and this is ONLY one it helps my hair looks fabulous all day!
