A good bench for the price.
Well constructed from good materials, fairly easy assembly. I would not use "Heavy Duty" to describe this bench, the side panels are 3/16", and the catch drawer, instead of having a metal catch pan has a "metal" lining that runs under the side pieces; an inserted catch pan would have a better chance of collecting metal scrap and allowing full recycling. The bench pin which comes with it is finished in varnish/lacquer. The top is well made with edge rails to keep items from rolling off. A good jeweler's work bench for the price.

ALOT OF WOOD DAMAGE!!
I found many defects on this bench, didn't even get a chance to put it together! One of the legs the wood was split and looks like they put wood glue or wood puddy to put it back together, also one of the draws the wood was split on that as well, wood peeling on the inside of a draw as well!!! Very disappointed!!

Excellent Value
Definitely a beginners bench. Relatively easy to put together with basic skills. I had no issue with holes not lining up. Only trouble was finding the holes on the underside of the top piece. Very solid. Easily worth the money given the fact that almost everything else I looked at was far more expensive. I don't know about the quality of the wood but it is certainly solid.

Piece of Junk
Buyers remorse big time....too late to return. Run away!!The main screws used to assemble this bench do not fit in the holes. After about two frustrating hours, I gave up trying to get the screws in the holes--the holes were not counter-sunk at the factory to fit the heads of the screws--thus the screws did not insert all the way into the cams. I went to three different hardware stores to find screws that would fit. I finally found some screws that I thought would work (not easy, the original supplied screws don't seem to exist anywhere else). I did not want to drill out a counter sink for each hole, in case I ended up returning the bench.I managed to get the bench put together with the new screws. The rest of the bench was a complete pain in the neck to assemble as well. The back boards are so thin, it was another adventure in frustration to get everything lined up and pushed together. The shorter screws were almost impossible to screw in the back part of the bench, despite all of my yoga move style contortions. It was impossible to tighten the screws that went behind the drawer section. To top off this eight hour assembly from hell, the provided allen wrench is cheap; the threads wore down halfway through. I could not find a matching allen wrench in my 50 plus allen wrench collection.I managed to get the bench put together. Then, after attaching the bench pin holder, I discovered the hole is too big for the bench pin, the bench pin is way too loose! Not a desirable trait in a bench pin. One of the arm rests looks like it was either run over by a car tire, or highly used from a old workbench. I ended up attaching the bench pin holder on the side as a tool holder.I decided that I could make it work; the thought of dis-assembling it, hauling the heavy boxes out of my apartment to my car and returning it was even more of a hassle. The new screws I used seemed to work. So I threw the boxes out. Now after only two weeks, the bench is swaying side to side. Since I can no longer return it, my next step is to take it apart, counter sink the holes, and try to re-assemble with the original provided screws. The item description is made in the USA from solid wood. Grobet claims they "assemble the bench in advance to trouble shoot any errors". Grobet, you should be ashamed. This bench is a piece of junk.

Good product and well made
Good product and well made. I would give this a 4.5 star if that was rating option. One of the back panel horizontal rails was drilled on the wrong side to receive dowels from the center rail. Luckily I had the tools to correct this-otherwise I would have had to get a replacement rail. Other than that the item went together easily, is sturdy, looks good.

This was not the case for me every thing assembled just fine and there is no particle board It is all ...
I was a little skeptic reading some of the reviews that said holes don,t match and it was not all real wood. This was not the case for me every thing assembled just fine and there is no particle board It is all solid wood.

Not as bad as people say.
Great beginner or second bench. Pretty much what you should expect for $350 bench. Reviews saying the holes aren't big enough for the bolts, semi true, you just need to pound them in a little bit. Took me about 1 hour to put together alone. Overall I would buy it again.

Disapointing USA product
This product is very disappointing for a product made in the USA.Pros:• It is sturdy when assembled• It is a good size for my space• Assembly was easy (mostly)Cons:• The description never identified the type of wood – CHEAP Knotty Pine• The instructions said it had previously been assembled at the factory – NO WAY• I had to sand out the groves for the panels• I had to re-drill (sand out) the bolt holes so the bolt heads would fit in the recess• The side rail on the top was cracked front to back along a grain line• The finish had spots that had holidays (no clear product)• There were thumb prints on the wood putty that was used to fill imperfections on the knotty pine
