Easy to setup, may need wifi booster to work properly
easy to use and super easy to setup with wps on router, easy to install using app in fact the easiest i have ever set up. work perfectly, only 1 small problem I needed to buy a seperate wifi booster for my hallway as the range on them is limited, but having the wifi booster sorted them out no problem.Good value for money

Brilliant little gadget
Bought this little gadget for my shed door and believe it or not it actually works. It has to be in range of your WiFi or it won’t connect, the only problem I had was connecting to my WiFi it will only work on 2.4 and not on 5 .Once I sorted that out it finally connected. I now get notifications on my phone every time the shed door is opened or closed. This could be used on front or back doors especially if you have young children trying to sneak out when you’re not looking 😂. Notifications take around 3 seconds to come through to the phone so not bad .I would highly recommend these little gadgets because they do exactly what their intended for .

Surprisingly easy to install
COMPLETE NOVICEThis is the FIRST 'smart' device I have installed, so I had very little idea what I was doing. I could already open and close my garage door with a single button key-fob but I can't see my garage from my house and I wanted a way of knowing if the garage door was open or closed without having to go out in the rain.INSTALLATIONThe physical installation of the detector is easy. You simply stick the two halves in place. The instructions for the wi-fi installation were not very clear TO ME so I installed the 'Smart Life' App on my iPhone and I kept on pressing 're-set' until I got a response. The App couldn't find the detector with my router in normal mode (2.4gHz & 5gHz) but it found the detector as soon as I temporarily changed my router to 2.4gHz ONLY. And that is it! Installation complete. It works.I was relieved to find that when the router was switched back to normal operation (2.4gHz & 5gHz) the detector and App kept on working properly. It is only for the initial set-up that you need to switch to 2.4gHz ONLY. I have no idea why.IN USEBy default, the 'Smart Life' App sounds an alarm for about ten seconds after I press the button to open my garage door or indeed if anyone opens it manually. The default alarm is not particularly loud or intrusive but you can hear it easily enough if you are in the same room as the iPhone. When I press the button to close my garage door, I get a distinctly different 'bleepitybleep' after 25 seconds and a screen notification telling me that the door is closed. Because it works by the simple presence or otherwise of a magnet, I don't think there is any way that it can get 'out of sync.'The App keeps a log of all the times of day that the door is opened and closed. I suppose that could be useful to know if someone has entered the garage and at what time.RECOMMENDATIONAt only £10.90 it seems a bargain. I could install another one in less than 10 minutes. Only four stars because the instructions could be better and I would much prefer bigger batteries. I can't imagine the 2x AAAs will last very long.UPDATE: 21 months later, it is still working 100% reliably on the original batteries used twice per day.I have now installed a smart switch to open and close the garage door just by voice instructions to Alexa. It was slightly more complicated but not too daunting for a determined novice (me).I also taught Alexa to use the Tuya detector to tell me verbally when the garage door is open and again when it is closed. For continuous status confirmation I have instructed Alexa to turn on a RED night-light attached to an Echo-Flex whenever the garage door is open. That light only goes off when the garage door is closed. I am now left in no doubt about whether the door is open or closed. Brilliant! There is a learning curve when 'programing' Alexa but it was fairly easy to do with basis DIY skills, a bit of patience and common sense.

I couldn't get it set up
Installation instructions are hopeless. Spent an hour trying different product profiles without success.

2.4 GHz wireless support is very picky and range is poor
Initially getting these to connect to 2.4 GHz wireless network for pairing was an absolute pain. Every time I tried with the Tuya app it kept failing with "Failed to add device". In the end I had to create a completely separate wireless network with legacy B/G enabled along with WMM Mode being disabled on my OpenWrt router for this specific SSID. I would recommend creating a whole new SSID if you can, given the settings required to get these devices to pair will significantly reduce speed and performance for other devices. Some routers may already set various compatibility settings for convenience and may not experience this, but these days enabling b/g rates isn't common and these devices clearly do not have even proper Wireless N support and this standard was published in 2009! Your phone also needs to be temporarily put on the same wireless network when pairing, but once this is done, you can go back to the original e.g. a 5.0 GHz network. After sorting the 2.4 GHz wireless issues, the pairing process did in fairness work well without further issues. The first few tests of opening/closing a door/window with the sensor and magnetic contact in place, the response can be slow or hit and miss. Sometimes opening a door is not caught at all. I can assume a few factors are likely, wake up time, battery and the cloud notification, all adding potential delays. The range of the sensors seems on the lower side, several of the one's I installed already complain about low Wi-Fi signal and they aren't exactly far away from the router (well within 10 metres, stated as the recommended maximum range). One placed on my front door is very hit and miss, suggesting it's not connecting to the WiFi sometimes. I would recommend doing an open and close test with the devices in hand to confirm the open/closed state is being captured reliably in the position. If not, you'll likely experience lack of notification or registering of the sensor status. The adhesive provided I would not trust and recommend purchasing some better stuff, especially if mounting higher up. There's much stronger adhesive available for cheap, that is strong enough to basically bond the back of the sensor, so it keeps the cover in place each time you need to remove it, despite putting force on it.The Tuya app itself works, but the interface is clunky and not exactly intuitive. You can get notifications on Low Battery, The Door/Window being opened/closed and a closing reminder. Tuya itself appears to be an IoT service provider, which various devices use. Notifications seem to work, but in some cases are missed. The Google Assistant link works and you can have the sensors displayed in the Google Home app, you cannot really do much with them in the Google Home app, other than see the state of "Open/Closed". Interestingly in the Tuya app this is displayed as "on" (Open) and "off" (Closed). It would have been nice to have a Google speaker device announce the state of any sensor when triggered, this is something you can't do directly, but can with some with something like Home Assistant, which I have tested and configured.Overall, these sensors are relatively cheap, they don't require a specific hub/border router to operate and do work as sensors. For their price and being able to be linked to Google Home/Assistant, they aren't too bad, but do have some connectivity issues and seem to be a bit hit and miss at times. As they are battery powered WiFi devices, this is something that generally is a problem for any wireless sensor device. The brand of this product just so happens to use Tuya, which to be fair has fairly good support for third party integrations and automation like Home Assistant. Reliability and time sensitive wise, you will not be able to use these devices, unless you are within a few short distance of your wireless router. A wireless extender may help for sensors in areas that don't work reliably, but overall, this might just be down to the product itself.

Amazing product
Works perfectly with the app, i receive notifications when the door open and close doesn’t look that odd in the door, connected easy with iphone app, very good for home security or windows, its very sensitive if open the door more than 1cm already detect it and send on the app
